Hi All--
I am soon perform a children's event where I am to perform as a genie. Part of my presentation will be a reading of Alladin and 1001 Arabian Nights. I am trying to find MUSIC for this event. There is plenty of middle eastern music to be found. But what I seek is music that fits the theme, but is also geared towards a children's audience. Music that would naturally go along with a oriental fairy tale. Here is an example from a Hanna/Barbera cartoon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ti-9p8OOhk It's close, but not exactly what I seek. Might I ask? Any suggestions? What I need is a CD or mp3 or other downloadable source. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS |

How about selected extracts from the suite 'Scheharazade' by Rimsky-Korsakov. The music is based on stories from 1001 Nights. It is evocative and has familiar melodies that even many children will recognize.

Stories....?....That's telling!
