Hi all

Does anyone know some methods for forcing a page in a magazine?

I know about the Dai Vernon force from Tarbell - any others that I should look up?

Thanks

Max Maven has a brilliant method on his Nothing DVD

I have used it only a few times but I have never gone wrong with it ever.

I like John Riggs newspaper front page force on his unchained DVd.. very nice idea maybe you could adapt it.
The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

Hey Kristian,
Docc Hilford uses a magazine page force in 21" Century Svengali, which can be found in his 'Nostrum Necromancy' manuscript. However, I can't recall whether it's an original move or an established method.

In my ebook Mentally Unstable there is a TV Magazine Test that you can perform almost impromptu!

It uses just a watch and a magazine. nothing else.

(I am also working on some improvements to send out for free to the people who have purchased it)

If you has the sykys watch you could use it, although you would be limited to what page you would like to force. I've used this in a resteruant with a menu once.

Banachek (I think) uses a page force in his Psi Series (I think) for a phonebook effect (for sure about that last part).

He offers the basic use and ideas but anybody with his Psychological Subtleties book should be able to influence it for a greater degree of control.

There's a math principle I've been playing with (from Math, Magic, & Mystery by Gardner I think) where you use a presentational ploy to make them choose a "different number" than their initial number. If you add in the "I'll look away and just look back to make sure you're following directions" ploy, this can be very strong.

I'm being purposely vague (due to location of this thread) but hopefully this will help a little.

I second lem on the Banachek force,(phone psychs effect in psi 2) it is very fare and has the potential to get others involved.
James biss also has an idea that comes with his IMB. (not sure if he is the creator tho) He uses a book instead of a magazine.

I am late to this but why a mag page?

Let me make this easy a mag or book are nothing more than a deck of cards locked in order.

Any non- 'movement' card force will work and any number force.
Unless you want to start playing GAFF games.

Then for a few hundred bucks you can set up a really swank force system.

For several times that you can offer a choice of any mag.

But why if you are doing a slate bit would you need a mag?

I closed with slate proof for a long time and there is no reason
for a book or a mag ever. (Free choice)

But this is just my opinion based upon 30 years of consideration.

If you used two tv guide style magazines, you could do the hoy test with it - and then have a video clip, or a photo of the programme in question...just a random thought for you...

in fact you could build an entire thing on how tv can influence choices through subliminal imagery, suggestion and advertising...

Sounds like my Dark Truth show from ten years ago.

It does play strong if you know what you are talking about.

If you do not you are no better than a store Santa.
