I got invited to an interview on a radio show. I would like to do one of those think of a number or a card effect.

If any of you could help me, I would appreciate it. I need an effect, not a reference, please. Please, P.M. me.

Thanks in advance.

Do a group mentalism effect. The best one to do on the radio is Mier Yedids "Total Destiny". Check it out. It is super easy to do and it packs some cool results.

How about "Grey Elephant in Denmark". If you're not familiar with the method get Mark Janets MagiCard.

Best wishes,

One must ALWAYS have a routine or idea of what you are going to do on a radio or TV show before you book them...

I've heard many great things about Mier Yedids "Total Destiny". Anyone know of a location where it can be found?

It can be ordered from most of the big magic shops online, and should be in any good magic shop where you are from.

If they haven't seen Blaine on TV down there you could do the 37 trick...I also like the elephant from Denmark. If someone was a biologist and geographist—if that's a word lol—they could say an emu from Dominican Republic. Smile Just a thought.

Jim Steinmeyer has a book called Impuzzibilities. There is a trick in there using 3 cards and you end up finding the spectators card. You could do it on a radio show.

I did a radio show some time ago and simply forced a card on the disc jockey. I then asked him to call my answering machine at home (on the air) that told him what card it was.

If you can do a nice force this will get him to keep talking about you long after you have left the studio...

I agree with Tor. Impuzzibilities is a great collection of self-working wonders using the age old method of....MATH! Unless you completely flunked out of math, these routines will allow you to totally concentrate on performance. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! The patter for each of the effects is even SUPPLIED! (MagicSmith had a great tid-bit about this book, stating that the patter included makes you sound a lot like a very successful performer who has his own specials on CBS!) Not that specific, but Im sure you get the point! Smile

Try Mental Yarn by Bill Goldman. It is a great trick, and would play well on the radio. Bill Goldman did it on the BBC. Also, Osterlind's Radio Sum Total is good.

The Banachek Radio Magic is great in order to get the general idea but for actual effects you will have to look elsewhere.

Richard Osterlind has a radio effect on his mind mysteries DVD number 3. Very good and it involves people phoning in.

I like the answer machine force. I might use that anyway.. lol

Just make sure you do something strong for the DJ; his reaction will let everyone know how good you are...

Check out Ian Rowland's Cold Reading. If it's a talk show doing a cold reading might be very effective. For drive-time morning shows, stick with a short, flash trick.
