What type of magic stand do you guys use at a childrens show??
I am currently looking for something to use... Right now I am using a stand I made my self, out of a small dresser... I took 2 bottom drawers out, and installed shelves... kept the top drawer in, for easy access to some small props, such as thumb tip, magic wand, sponge bunnies... any small objects I use in a kids show... the 2 shelves I use to keep my bunny production box, and my dove pan... to produce my animals in the show... I have a black table cloth hanging ovet the front of it... it works so well... very convenient... and has a good look to it... my problem is... that it's huge... and heavy! when I do a show, I need to switch cars with someone, because I need an SUV, it's not going to fit in my car! also my back is not enjoying lugging this thing around with me! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

The one I have is custom made, I made it with my father. It is 30 inches wide, it is big. I also made it to not have the overhang when it is opened.

You can NOT go wrong with a Lefler suitcase table. Apparently they've upgraded the new run, and it's better than the old one. There are 2 sizes, I have one of each. Simple to decorate, sturdy, roomy and versatile. Enough said.

I got a roll-on tool box, a little under three feet tall. It is made of metal, holds everything I need (and a lot more besides, as I am light on props) and it looks well, now that I have decorated it.

I've always wanted a table in which there is a ledge to drop things on. You know, so you can perform the vanishing salt shaker standing up.

One nice idea would be a sevante on a swing arm, so that you could swing it out into place just when you need it, and it would swing back under the table once you're done. |

I use a custom made flight case, perfect! It looks professional and it has made to my custom needs. In my case there is a range of props and store them in a order so it works for me the best in my show. I have to say that the case is just for storing my props and to get my name out (i have advertising on the case).
My advice, let or build a custom made case. You have a lifetime pleasure of it. my best, Ronald |

Hey guys!
thanks for the advice! I'm going to look into making one... but chances are it'll be too complicated for me, so I may just purchase a lefler table!

I have a trunk table which I made from diagrams I found in a book titled (I think) "The New Look for the Magic Show". If you are going to make one, look at this first.

Steve -
Are you referring to "The New Make-Up of Magic", by Micky Hades? There are several table plans in that book. There are also a couple of Table Books ("The Table Book", "The Table Book II") that Gene Gloye wrote for magicians. Also, the "Where to put it all" area of the Magic Café has many threads discussing tables, etc. - Donald

I presently use Tony Clark's suite case to table.Made from ABS material sturdy and very light weigh about 15lbs empty.
With my bad shoulder, I had to get rid of the Lefler make, which I've been using for many years. You can check out Tony's case on his site. TrickyRicky |

I have always used my Lefler Roll-On Table. It just works really great for me and I love the notion that I can velcro anything to it. It still looks as new as the day I bought it.
