Hello everyone. I was wondering if I could get your input on an effect I created.

A spec selects a card and signs it you put it into the middle of the deck. You show an empty card box with a plastic window you tape the top so you cannot open it. You wave over the window and a face down card appears. It is the signed spectator's card.
the box is examinable as well as the deck.

From your explanation of the effect and the method I guess, I think you don't need seal the case with tape. If you show emptiness of the box through window, wave the deck over the case and face down card appears in the box, it is a very good effect. I supose un-sealing of the tape hinders smoothness of taking out the selection.

If my guess of the method is wrong, I am sorry for a possible wrong opinion.

Why would you have a window in a card box? But anyway, it didn't excite me too much. It's just another card to card case. I assume the card appears face down and the signature is checked after it is removed?
Depending on the size of the window it could just be a partial card in the box, reminicent of similar card to envelope ideas.
But hey, you came up with it and it works for you, that's all that matters.

Actually the card that is removed is the signed card. No doubles. And the window is some casino box I had. It had a plastic window in it. I don't know why but it did. No partial card, although that is a good idea.

How can everyone say "Great Magic!" to a person with 3 posts and no demo(even though this person has had time to put it up and hasn't)? I'm being a bit cynical...but we get so many people on here saying, "What do you think of this trick I invented...you take an elephant, put it in a deck of cards, and it immediately jumps to the top with no moves of any kind. The deck and elephant ARE examinable." It will be interesting in a week or two to bring this thread back to the top to see if there's a video. I hope there is.

Is it so illogical to think that an amateur might have developed a new trick and might want to share it with the rest of us, hence coming here. A large part of what the magic Café is about, in my limited experience, is to encourage this type of exchange since it benefits the individual as a magician and our community as a whole. The only disappointing thing I see here is posts like otis'. Keep creating CardC. I'm looking foward to seeing the video.

OK everyone, just wanted to update you. I have made a demo. Unfortunately I am not a good video editor and I have a lousy web cam so my apologies. It will take a few days till I get it up but just wanted to let you know.
