Gotta, what a nice job by Florida's Drew Thomas, tonight on America's Got Talent, for once the judges didn't downplay the art, he rocked... .

I have boycotted watching that show but Drew called earlier and asked me to tune in so I did. Glad I did.
I was very happy to see that an Illusionist got a rave review from the panel. Drew is a great guy and his wife is the sweetest thing, next to my wife. I wish him the best in Vegas. Can't wait to see what he brings next. I just hope another singer doesn't win again. |

They should not have singers on that AGT. Let the singers flock to American Idol.
Let other performers have a chance to shine. |

Amen to that brother. I have said that since the first season and was so disappointed they made the variety acts out to look like chumps. Even the Vent that won was a singer.
They are still anti jugglers. A friend of mine who is one of the most amazing jugglers was made to look bad last season as well as another friend who has a fantastic magic/variety act. I have vowed to never go on the show or watch it but I had to see Drew. I figured he faired well or he wouldn't have asked me to tune in. I wish him the best in Vegas. |

"Things That Go Bump In The Night" is so strong, what do you follow up with. He did a good job. I like the idea of the extra assistant.

This illusion isn't performed enough. Great to see it again, especially the twist.

I have seen this Illusion performed quite a few times...NEVER this smooth! The "swtich" was literally invisible. I know it happened...but you can't SEE it happen!
Drew...YOU'RE THE MAN! Thanks for being awesome and putting magic in a "good light" again on National TV! Totally Awesome! Christopher Lyle

Excellent presentation Drew !
Longtime I haven't seen something like this well performed on TV. This makes us feel proud again to be an illusionist. Keep the great work going on and good luck for the next level on AGT. Oliver. |

I actually missed the show last night but just watched the episode on nbc.com. There was another Magician on the show that also made it thru. From the little bit they showed, it appeared as if he did a good job and they did vote him thru to Round 2. Looked to be an older fellow who did a mix of Magic and Break Dancing.
Two Magicians perform...BOTH get thru! AWESOME! Ya know...Charlie Caper won Sweden's Got Talent...perhaps, this could be the year for Magic in the spotlight! Hope so...

It would be great to have a magician or illusionist win this competition. I think there're enough TV competitions for singers and we have had enough dancer win through the last years.

Perfect proof that skillful presentation elevates magic far above a mere secret…
The masked magi exposed “bump” not too long ago, and I just saw a rerun. Yet Drew was able to rock the whole house and win the judges with it anyway. Also, a piece made popular by Henning decades and decades ago, presented with a fresh twist and a facelift became something innovative. Way to go Drew! Magically, Walt |

It was great to see a great reaction from everyone.
http://www.drewthomas.net He is one to watch for. hopefully AGT will allow an act to win rather than a singer. Having some 'experience' with AGT, the behind the scenes are somewhat 'politics'. However, Drew will be a busy guy just after that one performance! Congrats to him, his wife, and crew! He pulled off a classic with flying colors! Very nice to see! -Alpha |
