Hello,
I have a few toned Barbers and Walkers that I will occasionally use in a few routines. This got me thinking... remember those t-shirts and coffee mugs that would change colors with heat? I thought it would be pretty cool to have a thermochromatic coin gaff ^_^ Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Thanks, Kyle |

That's a good idea, actually. Because if the coin was sitting cold, then handed it to a spectator to hold... and after a few moments of holding it, it's a different color. Then switch it out and prove the coin is... just an ordinary coin.
This could be a cool effect. |

Somebody was making some coins a while back that had a feature utilizing this process. Apparently there were different card revelations available, and they would show up after the coin was held in the hand.

As I remember, you would then (after the revelation) switch out the gaffed coin for a regular one and give it away and it had your advertising info on it.

Coins as we ordinarily think of them are metal - and adding plastic just makes them seem odd.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I don't think it needs to be plastic to be thermochromatic, but if it does, then this idea is pretty much dead.
