Hey guys, I need some advice on a coin dropper. I have no experience with these, and I was wondering if any of you could help. First, let me explain what I need it for:
I'm working on developing a routine that begins with one coin. I do a short one-coin flurry, then for the finale I do a spider vanish. As I'm producing the coin with the right hand, I want to steal three silver dollars with my left. Previously, I would steal a jumbo as I produced the one coin, then change it. But now, my idea is to turn the one coin into the three that I stole using some kind of a shuttle pass. So then I will end up with the three stolen coins in my left hand, and my (now hidden) one previous coin in my right hand. Perfect setup for a Three Fly! Anyway, I was hoping you guys could give me some good advice on what kind of dropper would help me achieve this. Thanks! |

There is a simple 'Coin Clip" available form many dealers that holds 3-4 half dollars. For years I just tacked them together with a bit of wax and tucked them under my belt -- a sight twist enough to separate them.
You can also make a dropper from a baby sock that works for balls too. Hard to find a black one though ;-)

KiethP, thanks for your help!
I saw the vikingmagic one, and I really liked it. Only problem is, it's unavailable! Do you know where I can get my hands on one? The denny magic one also looked nice, only problem with that is that I need it to hold 3 silver dollars. |

Do you need a dumper or a hold out? I got one several years ago (TDC Holdout) and it was simply a squeeze style coin purse with a piece of material sewn to the bottom that could be pinned to your jacket line. Its referenced in Chris Kenner's Totally Out of Control in his routine "Cloth and Pence" It holds three silver dollars snugly with room for more, in a stack position or fanned out. Now it doesn't deliver them if you understand my meaning...you have to grasp the coins and release them manually, versus a dropper when activated does just that. It drops them into your waiting hand. I prefer the clasp purse, because you have control of the coins, therefore making the steal SILENT as well as making sure they don't prematurely..well you get what I'm saying. lol....

Easy to make one using a short piece of tubing and a rubber O-ring. PM me and I'll fill you in. You need a few tools though.

Johnathan, that hold out looks really interesting. On the page you posted, you're talking about the TDC UTILITY HOLDOUT, right? On the site, it doesn't mention anything about silver dollars, only that it can hold two half dollars. Have you tested it with silver dollars or something?
Thanks for all of your suggestions! |

Yeah. The holdout can hold 3 silver dollars or more, depending on the positioning. Its perfect for numerous items. Get a couple...you'll like them. Again, Chris Kenner uses it for his Cloth and Pence routine and it works perfectly. They also work for jumbo coins as well. They are snug, but take little effort to engage the release. Best of luck...

Thanks a lot Johnathan! I really think I might pick up a few of those then, that sounds like exactly what I need!
