I would be interested to know if anyone has this material and can make a comment on it.

"Jas Jakutsch is a close confidant of Gary Kurtz. You may have never heard of Jas Jakutsch, but in the “underground world of mentalism” he is recognized as one of the best. Volume 1-Three 4 One: Contains material which allows you to get “three and four effects for the price of one.” Volume 2-A Kick To The One-A...Head: Contains Lost & Found, Itoo, Getting A Glimpse, The QuinBillet Test and The Marked Cards. Volume 3-Divide And Conquer: Contains Divide & Conquer, Scam (with a kick), 16-foot Tsunami, Various Multiplex Multiformis and much more. Sold as sets only!"

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am reading it and it is very good. The first book has his center tear and a really good 3 to 4 person mind reading bit. It even contains plans on how to build his 'peek' pad. The second one has 4 or 5 ways to open, read and close a billet and then a routine to apply them. The last book is my favorite and it contains some amazing card divination stuff. You can allow 4 then 8 different people to shuffle a deck and then have them pick cards and you divinate them. Great stuff....

Pm me if you want anything else,

Every month, a lot of mentalism stuff is coming out and most of it is...

As Max Maven puts it:

90% of everything is shi... :

But these three booklets are worth every cent , you will pay for it.

( and you will have to pay more for it than for the color series of Maven)

One of the best investments , I have ever made in my life.

I tell you why:

It is three booklets full of great mentalism.
Book No 1 starts with the JaJa Center tear, still one of the best.
In this booklet and the second one , you will find billet switches, billet work incredible billet routines, new (!)routines and lots of clever and practical advice.

Gary always speaks of the importance of composition.
In mentalism , we only have a limited supply of effects and composition ( of effects)is everything.
It is the thing that makes your performance a hit or a failure.

The routines are clever and I have still to find just one book that has such clever and different and entertaining " hardcore " routines.

Booklet No 3 is on card routines that ( as far as I know) Gary used to open his act with.
It is a take a card , think of a card thing but again, the composition makes it a stunner ( Smile )

Although it may not be easy to find the cards, necessary to perform this effect, get it , try it, you will have one of the strongest openers in mentalism , you can do.

But there is another reason for my love with these booklets:

Gary started as a close up magician, who could do very technically demanding stuff with no difficulty and completely fooling his audience. Then, more and more he got into mentalism. You can see his past in his sleights and routines. He uses his sleight of hand ability to do incredible mentalism. It is a different approach, but it is so effective.

I started with manipulation, when I was young and turned to close up magic .Then I discovered mentalism. I love sleight of hand

( by the way , also Bob Cassidy points out that sleight of hand is very useful, also for the mentalist)

and the routines in the book are very technically demanding.

But you perform routines that you will not find described in many other books.
Gary is not limited to gaffs or psychology. His routines are a composition of gaff, psychology and (!) sleight of hand )

GET THEM , NO MATTER WHAT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY!!!

Thank you

Ravi

For a start don't waste time doing a search on Stephens Magic. Perhaps we could have a better link from Mars?
Ian's email seems to suggest that GK is JJ???
Are the first 2 books about billets only?
Unfortunately I don't have a chance to use them. Smile Smile

Mars is probably talking about Stevens Magic Emporium.

It is in the ads there.

Would be great to know if these are really available from there. A lot of people would be very happy.

Here is a direct link to the Jakutsch "Completely Mental" books at Stevens:

http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=2122

I have them and although they are quite thin in volume the content is very good... I use the JaJa center tear all the time (although I prefer Alain Bellon's "Obsidian Oblique," Millard Longman's "Acidus Novus," Al Mann's "Azonic Force" and my own "Acidus Reflux" billet peeks for better ways of getting the info)...

And yes, JJ IS GK...

Hope this helps...

Success!!!

Thanks for all the info guys.

I did wonder if JJ was GK. Very interesting indeed. And yes, Stevens was the dealer advertising the material.

I may put these publications on a back burner for a bit as I am currently awaiting my copy of Alain Bellon's "Obsidian Oblique", but worth keeping in mind for the future.

At the end of Completely Mental Vol 3 there is a note that says that a Vol 4 Serial Killers is in the works. Does anyone know if this ever appeared?

Gary Kurtz changed his mind.
The volume 4 is not for now !
Perhaps when he'll be an old man.

These booklets are the best investissement I've ever made Smile

When I worked for him three years ago, he has shown me lot of very good stuff.
