I never work with a jacket on so I continue to ponder the purchase.

Hey Everyone,
Here's the truth: You'll spend more time preparing some T&R newspapers than you'll spend working on your jacket. The alteration required for this professional routine is a minor one and you don't even need a tailor. Seriously. This will take a 5-minute visit to a fabric store, and 20-minutes with your jacket. That's all. For a working pro, a one-time 20-minute jacket tweak is a SMALL price to pay for improved deception. Frankly... I've spent A LOT more time & money for a much smaller result. REGARDING THE BONUS DVD: Lou has new handlings that don't involve the aforementioned alteration (but STILL require a jacket, btw). I interviewed Lou on the bonus DVD and I watched him go over all the extra vanishes in real time. Don't want to alter your jacket? Order the bonus DVD. (you can get a full refund, after all) Don't wear a jacket EVER? Then I don't think you should by it at all. It won't be right for you. Hope this clears things up. Best wishes, Joe Skilton |

The big question is, is this the effect the perfromer wants to show an audience?
YES = Modify jacket j |

Can you use some of these moves in a cups and balls routine (with crocheted balls)? Or is there something about the weight/size of the balls that's needed?

After their reappearance you are ready for Paul Gertner's C&Bs routine . . .

Or do you actually need the steel balls? Also, I'm presuming the flash gimmick that has been referenced is a Fism Flash... but I hear it's not being made anymore. What are the current alternatives? - Frank |

Isn't the magic Café a wonderfull place. I just placed my order for this. This is what I have been looking for for a long time. Something different, truly magical, and practical. Thouroughly looking forward to receiving this and an enjoyable new learning experience. Already thinking of so many presentation avenues for this. Thanks Lou for offering the community this lovely slice of illusion!

I just received the package and have to say this is a very beautiful routine.
The steel balls and flash (not included) really make it classy. I'll have to see if those Chinese Baoding ball boxes will fit; I think they'd look pretty good. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&sa......&start=0 In answer to my own question above, the moves are not quite transferrable to a cups and balls routine. Also, Flash Burst is apparently the replacement device for a Fism Flash (no longer made). |

Have had this for a few months now, and am completely satisfied. This is a routine about timing and misdirection, but nothing knuckle-busting or impossible to accomplish. I'm an amateur, and feel I have the fundamentals of this well within my grasp.

Thanks Kent and others for the review. I decided to purchase the deluxe package, and I am extremely happy that I did. I was a little reserved purchasing at first because of the price, but seriously, the price is well worth it!
This is a winner in my books. Very practical for close-up, strolling, or stage. No difficult moves and sleights needed, which means more time practicing the routine. Lou provides you with a whole routine which he has worked out and performed for many years. You also get full perfomance rights with no reservations or restrictions. There are many extra's too. I loved the excerpt from his book as well. Very knowledgable info in it for both beginners and seasoned pro's. I also want to publically thank Mr. Serrano for autographing and personalizing my copy for me. Thanks for making this gem available!

The steel ball routine from Lou is a steal ya I had to say it. Every year I am lucky enough to watch Lou perform the steel ball routine at the castle and to me and everyone attending it is a very magical piece. When you purchase the steel ball routine you also get a few other tricks on the dvd as a bonus, and Lou is a great guy who I know you can contact anytime with questions. He is a real worker doing restaurants gigs constantly and this is his bread and butter trick and he put out a great product. On the bonus dvd Lou is interviewed by another great magician Joe Skilton ,look for an exciting up coming trick from Joe who performed a great bill trick on the show Masters of Illusion.

I have to admit I was a skeptic, and wasn't really a fan of the way Lou was advertising this effect. But I saw it perfomed tonight in person, and it totally blew me away. I've seen a lot of magic, and know most of the magic principles and slights, and still this floored me. This is the closest thing to REAL MAGIC that I've ever seen. It's that good, that simple, and that direct.

Reactions I've gotten from this have been similar to yours Jim. This is a good one. And fun to perform too.

I enjoy performing this alot. It's so fun to do, and in a way addicting. The reactions I get are always positive, and no one has ever caught on to the certain thing involved using misdirection. Lou's teaching on the DVD is excellent. I also like the simple yet very effective card in picture frame that he shares as well.
This isn't just a DVD with a routine, props, and a few bonuses. For those of us who have purchased it, you'll know what I mean. I have no regrets at all with this purchase. Without saying too much for respect to Lou, this will pay for itself if you want it to.

I have an important personal question. I had a PACEMAKER embedded in my upper left chest about a month ago. Using strong magnets in the near vicinity is a dangerous no-no.
I really like this routine and Kent Gunn is someone I greatly respect... So, can I safely buy and use this? Thanks, Glenn Godsey |

Hi,
can anyone tell me if this can be done with other small steel objects, or must the ball bearings be used? thanks in advance, Ray |
