It's not not that hard to make IE. the gaff! So--- It should look good! Smile The one
I had 25 years ago was good! And it looks the same! But Why would you have a hole in a half dollor??? I would think a chinese coin would be better!

You get what you pay for. And this is a cheap price gaff and I wouldnt spend a dime on it.

As you said David, easy enough to make! I made a set up a long time ago with an E African dime but a Chinese coin would work just as well! I personally prefer the EA dime as most of the Chinese coins I've ever had look cheap!

Try the Hong Kong coin by Johnson. You can do the same effect and more. It comes in 2 sizes of Chinese coins, Half dollar and dollar size.

I would recommend that.

It is awesome. I just found another one in a box this morning. Not sure if it is a Johnson or not. It is labeled "Coin off Shoelace" It has Half Dollar sized Chinese coins and a shoelace. Same trick.

Why not do a non-gaffed version. See Tarbell v1.

Or Troy Hoosier's Charming Chinese Challenge?
The current economic crisis is due to all the coins I've vanished.

There's some great looking Danish coins that have holes in them. I prefer these over the fake looking Chinese coins.

Fman111 ... my exact sentiments!

I have the Charming Chinese Challenge DVD. It has this routine plus lots more.
If you are a coin worker, this is right up your street.

However, unfortunately, I am not. Hence it is for sale within this forum!!!

Hooser's book, DesTroyers, has CCC, and some prequel's (Squeezed Away & A Touch of Brass), that allow you to convert 3 half dollars into the 3 Chinese coins used in the CCC routine. From what I've seen, very similar to Freak Coin. Nice stuff.
