Hello Eddie:

This is truly amazing! This old mansion HAS to be saved and restored. What a beautiful example of Victorian craftsmanship! , and what a shame that it has fallen into disrepair. Reminds me of Ca da zan Mansion Of John and Mable Ringling, before it was saved. Thanks for posting this. Also I have read about Coney island in other threads, That grand old place HAS to be preserved also, there is SO much history there!

Thanks Eddie for posting this!

Wonderful old home...great windows. I agree Rod,
it would be a real shame if it wasn't restored.

Hello Rick:

First of all, welcome to the Café', great to have you here. Yes, That old mansion could NOT be replaced. I think the city should have bought that years ago and made a circus museum out of it and charged admission,to help with the up keep of it. How those grand old stained glass windows survived all these years is beyond me. Can you imagine what that place would look like fully restored? WOW!

Rod...thanks for the welcome.

Baileys house must have been something in its day.
Strange how it was just left to deteriorate. You
wonder how that came about? The complete story of
the house would be an interesting tale.

It appears the price started at $10 million last Nov. and then
dropped to $6.5. But if you're in line, you're in time...it's
only $3 million for next three minutes.

My favorite James A. Baily story is that he had a dog. He used to tie his dog outside the office wagon, and since a circus lot is laid out the same way every day. When his dog would bury a bone...the Circus would move and The Dog would go to unbury his bone, but it would not be there...cause the Circus had moved to the next town....

I heard Mr. Bailey dropped his keys on the ground beside the ticket
wagon one night and at the next spot he was over at the ticket wagon
looking for them...

Todd...you're already living in NY. Buy the place...they seem to have
a motivated seller...
