I designed a coloring sheet/instruction sheet to give away. It has a black stripe at the bottom to roll up into a wand.
I have two questions. If I take the file to a printer, can they print it all the way to the edge of the paper? Home printers leave a margin all around the page. Also, what would the best way to hold them in the rolled position? If I put a bit of tape at the ends, it bows out in the middle, or anywhere between the tape.

Yes, a printer can print it all the way to the edge. It is called "bleed." You will have to make you art over-sized to account for the bleed. Check with your printer to find out how much, as it has to do with the printing equipment they use.
I always used a single rubber band wrapped around the rolled up wand certificates in the middle. If you use tape, they'll likely tear when the try to open up the wand. |

Thanks.
What about the ends of the wand wanting to pop up? What type of rubber band? The small dental bands?

Yes, the ends will want to pop up but that usually doesn't bother the kids. I used a regular small rubber band and had to double or triple them over. A dental band might work but you'll have to roll the certificate up tightly. You can use two rubber bands if you want to make the ends stay down. It just take more time to get them ready.

I found the best rubber band in the dollar store. I think they are used for tying hair. They are in assorted colors, really small and perfect for the paper wand! One pack contains at least 100 of them.

I use these all the time, and it doesn't matter to have the black all the way to the edge. And I only use the #19 rubber bands to wrap it up. Sometimes the ends stick up, most of the time they don't. I have the jumping bands effect in my rollup so using the band is like giving them something to work with.
Like mentioned above, the kids don't care and parents think its cool.

Great idea with the jumping rubber band, I do have that on the activity sheet.
