I hope I'm posting in the correct area, if not, please tell me where I should post this and forgive me. Well, anyway, I recently procured a "Viking Ball thru hand". I'm having a very rough time removing the false shell /secret sleeve from the plunger. The instructions read as to "Holding the plunger by the knob, carefully pull off the secret sleeve which covers the base of the plunger giving it a slight twist & pull". I just can’t get this sleeve off! I did send this item to "George" who did his magic on it then returned it. I'm not the "Incredible Hulk". Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like you are trying hard. Try a gentle touch very light pull and twist.

Let's revive an 18 year old thread...!
I'm having the opposite problem- my sleeve is too LOOSE and won't stay on the plunger. Anyone had this problem and have a fix...? Thanks so much! |

On a brass item like this Paul Diamond nicked the inside edge slightly with a pocket knife to make sort of a burr. Not pretty, but it worked for the thing he was showing me.
