Whit, I'm looking forward to the DVD coming out. I've had the video for some time now, and I know it's still the same routine and everything, but I like the higher quality of DVD's. They last longer and also they fit into a smaller space than videos. I love your routine and am looking forward to when the DVD is out. Thanks for sharing your great rope routine with us!

I've never tried making my own pixie dust as it is easier for me to just pick it up from the local apothecary. I have had good results with drying my own eye-of-newt and spider spleens on a wire rack laid out in the sun and then grinding them in an old fashion mortar and pestle. I would think this might also work well with your pixie's.

It would. A bit old fashioned and time-consuming, but effective none the less...

Whatever you do, don't get that synthetic stuff that comes from China.

No, only use real pixies...and send the kids out of the house, they make a lot of noise until they dry, and it can be distressing for the very young.

I know this is an old thread but recently heard that Whit has completed and will soon release a DVD on the Mongloian POP Knot. This is a great effect and I have the booklet but would love to add the DVD also. Any updates on when the DVD will be available?

I mentioned this is another thread, but I had to change the name of the trick because the Mongolians in the audience were offended.
Now I call it the Barbarian Pop Knot. So far I haven't had any negative feedback from the Barbarians. Got to stay PC these days

Why on earth would it be offensive to Mongolians? I created it because the Mongolians were great horsemen and experts at ropes and knots. I used to begin with "Here is something I learned on the steppes of Mongolia..." What did they find offensive?

I do love watvhing you work, Pop, and the link with the Trailer Trash Magician shows how nicely your routine can be adapted to another persona. Beautiful scripting,

Pop;
I think the Mongolians here in FL are more uptight than the West Coast Mongolians. They also maintain that you DON'T go back and forth the same way that you go in and out. It may be just a matter of technique, but they are sticklers for accuracy, while the Barbarians don't seem to give a $#@% about anything. P.S Great routine. It's so good it even plays well for Vikings - and they know their knots!

Indeed, a fellow once told me that for a dollar he'd teach me the mongolian knot trick. I got khan'ed. I'll be here all week folks, try the veal.

The rope routine is in the can. We are waiting for it to be edited. Don't know when it will be done. I am not doing the editing this time.
