not sure if this is the right place to post this.
does anyone here do any balisong manipulation? if so, have you incorporated it into a magic routine of some sort? i am a knife collector, and have been twirling balis for a long, long time. just wanting some ideas to incorporate two of my favorite hobbies (knives and magic). thanks in advance

I would think it would go very well with a Bill to Lemon routine.

Maybe, you can get some Balisong shells made up. It would be hard but, I must say it would be really cool to see.

Cigar routine should work with these butterfly knives. Just flourish the crap out of it.

http://www.balisongxtreme.com (and its associated links) have been very helpful in the last few years. I have down everything that Clay (site owner) has on there and have even come up with some of my own handlings. I have been trying (with no avail) to make them "disappear" but can't find a grip to do it in. How would you use it in Bill in Lemon? Just to open the lemon with a few flourishes? I don't smoke, so I am never near a cigar. I was thinking more along the lines of doing the magic with/to the balis. Thanks for the help so far!

I've been using a bali for a long time now. If u want to manipulate one using sleight of hand then u need to learn some quick opens and closes. I've made up some moves of my own. i can open and close a bali when it's rolling between my fingers opening and closing. As fas a making it disappear, try making it appear closed of course. people like that. One last thing, use it as a prop with something else. Any type of knife out of the ordinary does scare some people so try using it in one hand while having something in the other hand, know what i mean?

What if you were to do a simple three step open and close, and while in the process use a vanish along the lines of a cigarette vanish. Haven't really figured out how to do it but it sounds possible.
Also if you employ a topit on the closing of the bali you could latch it shut quickly and vanish it using the topit. Let me know what you think -Bill |

I don't know much about cig vanishes, as I don't smoke and have stayed away from all cigarette effects. But, the Idea of a topit just may work.
I was also thinking of a possible way to do a color changing routine. not sure if it would work.
