Probably a stupid question. To those that have experience with the vibrating motors from thumpers. What kind of life expectancy can one expect on average? I have an opportunity to get a couple thumpers (micro size) cheap. The person selling them had wired them up wrong and they constantly ran until the battery was dead. He did this several times.

I tested them and they work fine. I'm just curious if constant running would heat it up and drastically shorten the lifespan. Since the average thumper would only be activated momentarily in brief spurts.

Thanks

If these motors have polarity, that might be an issue.

Why don't you call the distributer as they know technical information better then us
While you're at it, since these motors are so inexpensive, buy some.

I have heard that to run them constantly is easier that starting and stopping a lot. But then again, I have never had the vibrating function of a cell phone ever stop working. I was just curious if anyone has ever had one of these little motors quit?

12 Volts, the battery model number is 27A, like a AAA is the size, not 27 amps.

Or you can go to Radio Shack and getpart # 273-0107 a very small vibration motor that's 3vdc and small enough to go into a bic type pen body. for $3.99it runs well and it is cheap.
