I posted this here earlier:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......tart=150 but I thought it would also be valuable enough for a standalone post. Last night I was at a networking event. It was in a restaurant and crowded. I was talking to this women face to face, the discussion turned into what I do and we were talking about shows like The Mentalist, Closer, Psych, Lie to me. So, It was a PERFECT time to "do something." It was difficult to perform an ESP card effect or other card effect or such since it was so crowded and it would have lost the "organic" nature of the conversation. If I could have just introduced something it would have been cool. A few things that come to mind could have been: Rick Maue's Imagine (if I could pull it off, I suppose a CT perhaps) What could I have done? What would YOU have done? Keep in mind, this wasn't a time to gather every one in the place and "put on a show." It was simply a conversation between two people. No time for a 5 minute piece etc. Maybe something from Reality is Plastic? Thanks John |

Any simple equivoque with a prediction works in this situation. Write something down on your card and fold it then place it in their pocket. Tell them to take out a few items from their purse and/or pockets. Assuming you wrote some obvious stuff that people carry around, you would then equivoque to the predicted item.
Also, you can create a Free Will prediction with any three objects they first remove. Of course, carry any of the SUC wallets works to your advantage in these situations. Greg

I suppose you're right Greg. I don't use my Hideout/SUC wallets to their advantage in those situations. I should.
Thanks |

Too noisy for "Influence U.?" Love that.
I also like to play "guess which hand" with a billet. I have them put the billet away and play with an imaginary billet. Finally, I tell them the thought-of word or name.

Yeahh...Verbal control will be my choice
as Greg Arce said. Also my ESPecial Opener. As Mike Ince tolds..... I mix this post with and idea ... "think on any toy that you had when you was a little girl... write on this paper , and imagine that you had in one of your hands" first reveal the hand via muscle reading, and next reveal the thought toy. a very intimate moment .

Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

I even had here hand for a moment since we were discussing the different types of sixth sense and she mentioned that palm reading was scientific and she believed that. I just wasn't thinking quick enough YET but that is probably one of the BEST avenues to take. Palm reading. J |

Hi there!
Phil Smith has an interesting principle in his book "Yokai". It's basically a method for forcing one of five items in quite a fair way. He gives several examples how to use this principle for different effects. But in the end you could just let them "choose" one of your fingers and then show them, that it has for example a smiley face painted on it. Best wishes, Lexa |

You may laugh, but I would have done something really simple. Do you remember this kid's trick?
I would have borrowed a piece of paper and torn it into 9 squares, told her to write the name of a friend from high school she hadn't thought about for a long time on a piect of paper (the center one) and then had her write eight other names on the other pieces of paper, fold the papers, mix them up and give them to you. You play "Lie to me" by asking her if the old high school friend was each name but her reply has to be "no" each time. You divine the name. |
