I have been especially blessed in the balloon world. Aside from good friends and a successful performing career, I have found a great deal of success within the industry as well with my lectures and DVDs.
Now it is time to give back. On youtube, and my website I have started posting brand new free instructional videos. http://www.youtube.com/BusterBalloon http://www.busterballoon.com/Buster_Ball......hop.html There are a lot of basics, plus some of my classic sculptures that I have released on DVD in the past, and coming soon, a whole batch of new stuff that I have never released before. My DVDs will still be available, and we will be working on a new one soon. But in the meantime for those of you who are jonesin' for something new, or thanks to the economy just can't afford a new DVD at the moment (yes, I know how expensive mine are) hopefully these will get you through. Thanks for being my friends,

I love you. I want to come hug you. My wife isn't happy about it... but it's true.
Being new to this amazing art and trying to learn as much as I can absorb, I can not begin to tell you how grateful I am to the masters such as yourself and Mark Byrne for being so open and helpful with your knowledge and resources. We are a truly blessed community to have folks like yourself, here with us. Thank you Don! You are one of a kind!

Don,
Thanks this is great, I have done a little twisting in the past, but plan to get into it more in the very near future, and this will help those plans. Also if it is OK I was going to email you in the next week or so to pick your brain about something. Thanks again Greg |

As a brand new twister, I also say thanks so much. I just received some Magic back issues with your twisting effects, and plan to work on "ring on dog" thoroughly. Also really enjoyed Twisted:A Balloonamentary and your sweet romance story there.

I too am a new twister, with a huge passion for the art.I second revolvejoy,MiketheMagicDude and Kevinr. Thank you! I loved your story that you shared on the Twisted movie. And the lady bug you teach in Italy people love it so much.
I would also encourage any to read Dons articles on Ballonhq amazing stuff.Amazing. Al Tester leads a weekly balloon jam here in Tucson and its a blast learning and sharing. A question if I may.Ill be in L.A. for a convention (video game) and will have a few free days Thursday the 20th and Sunday the 23rd.Are either of those days better to go to Café Tu Tu Tango? And is there any balloon jams/gatherings just happening those days? Good place to see street preforming? Thanks again Don I Truly appreciate what you do and who you are in your art. |

Unfortunately, the glory days of TuTu Tango are gone. I left a few years ago, right after the key management staff did, The joint has not been the same since. It is still there and I have friends who twist there on weekends, but it is not the same place.
As for jams, we usually have those on mondays, but if you post a note on BHQ that you will be in town and want to play, I am sure you could get something together. Street performing, either Venice Beach or Santa Monica Third Street Promonade on saturday and sunday.

If I had gotten "really" inot balloons a few months earlier I would have shunned this video game convention for Diamond Jam/Balloon Camp.Though I do get to start working with a CBA on my return.woooooottt!!!!! Thank you Don, Still working on that "cool" sculpture I'll have it down one day! |
