Didn't we just go through this fooferall? How much can the poor man stand? Unless he has the lifespan of a May Fly, once a year should be enough.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD:
My 63rd birthday was August 14th, same as John Ringling North haha, so I celebrated my birthday by going to John Ringling North the 3rd's circus KELLY MILLER. What a great little show, and the best part is they did the old Lovely Luawanna Lady Production number that was used in the C B De Mille movie THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, they even had the old soundtrack with Dorothy laMour singing, The staging and lighting were beautiful. The Kelly Miller Show has that old John Ringling North touch , and especially with John Ringling North's music. Kelly Miller is touring Michigan right now., don't miss this great little show! By the way Todd, Ive got to get to Coney island one of these days, that is on my MUST DO list haha ROD |

Can't think of a better way to spend your birthday than at the circus!!!! I always try and catch the Ringling Show each year here in Michigan at Grand Rapids Van Andel arena. It is truly still THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH! I highly recomend it to everyone! Have a great day! ROD |

By the way, Kelly Miller was the last full time traveling circus to carry a sideshow. They gave that up @ 1995. The L.E. Barnes show did carry a sideshow a few years ago, but that show didn't last long.

Big John's show was the best TRADITIONAL little show we ever saw. My Daughter was 2 years old at the time and she STILL talks about it! Happy belated Big John. We won't forget. Hold a spot for me on the bally.
The above post was meant for BJS not you turkeys.

Hello Todd:
I have some photos of the last side show on kelly Miller Circus. They had a clown that ate fire and did Punch & Judy. They had another clown that did magic( the sucker die box) They also did the Blade Box. Sure wish the sideshows were still on the circuses, I never missed going. ROD |

Hey, while I am here, Does anyone know who played Pleasanton, CA Fair back in '83? I wandered into a sideshow there when my buddy and I, both of us just out of the army, decided to go play the ponies and found that there was a fair going on....
oh, and not to be rude, Happy Birthday to Everyone! |

Couple of my friends are the clowns for the Kelley Miller Circus; saw it when they were in town a couple months ago. Outside the tent they had a small trailer with a large boa on display and someone calling a simple bally for it.

Hello Stephon:
Yes! Ryan and Steve GREAT CLOWNS! Just saw them last Thursday. Took Steve some old clown props I had, and an old clown Ringling poster for Ryan. That snake grind show is nice and compact, in the back of a wells cargo trailer. When it was new it had a pa system on it for bally, but I see its gone now. Some of the tent crew live in the back of it. ROD |

What kind of show was it? Oddities museum, full live show or something in between. It could have been a number of folks.

Had a banner with Jojo the Penguin Boy. Inside the exhibits were in an oval. Mid afternoon and the fat lady was there taking abuse from the patrons. Mostly stuffed animals if I remember. Was a 100 foot banner line though... Don't remember any talker, inside or outside. Not live acts at that time of day. Was mildly interesting, then it was back to the beer and the ponies... won a couple of hundred that day...Russel Baze was riding that day...
