I dunno, bobser. People still pay A LOT to see Angel or Copperfield. Both have lots of competition but have come up with ways to excel beyond those performers around them. Perhaps the same is true with hypnosis. If you're superior to your competition--or like Houdini were better at marketing than your competition--people will still want to see you. Every vaudeville show had a magician, but Houdini was one of the highest-paid entertainers in vaudeville. With entertainment, perhaps quality does win over quantity.
Do you find it interesting that the people who have no trouble getting booked and paid well as hypnotists aren't complaining while those who have difficulty are most vocal over this? |

I think Angel and Copperfield are stars and rightfully so. But we make them that because we need them (stars). Having said that I've seen Copperfield do close-up and he was truly bloody awful!
When you say they have lots of competition you're correct of course, but it's not exactly a level playing field is it? By that I mean there are sackfuls of magicians around the world who are all just as good as the known stars, but they themselves are not known stars and that's the difference. If Angel or Copperfield arrived in Falkirk or Maidstone this weekend without being known and without the financial clout then I have to honestly assume they'd struggle to get a gig within a month. However on your second paragraph (re: hypnotists) you're simply spot on.

Im not sure what you mean by being paid well craig.
Most hypnotists I know including bobser don't get a lot of bookings or paid well. In this country They get paid peanuts. From what I am hearing from other established pros over the pond they are starting to feel the pinch with the flooding of monkeys willing to work for peanuts... Do you llike peanuts craig? My gut feeling tells me you would chew on the empty shells. I mean you just want to help people right? Not focus on taking money that would be inappropriate for such an anthropoligist like you. |

Bobser, I think you're right. I haven't seen anything special in the abilities of Copperfield or Angel. Like Houdini, however, they do better marketing in the face of competition. Of course, Houdini was a great card manipulator, but his real forte was publicity.
MP, actually, peanuts are a wonderful food. I prefer them dry roasted. I don't like the shells, though. When doing therapy my goal is to help people. When doing stage hypnosis my goal is to bring joy and a smile, and perhaps a bit of amazement. Competition makes me better. And wouldn't you know it, the result is success. |

If you are happy then that's fine. If you work for next to nothing and are ok with it again that's fine. that's all it means - It doesn't mean you are more noble than those that focus on creating a business. It doesn't mean you help them anymore or less. It just means your not very good at business. Success varies depending upon how its measured.

I see nothing in my post about working for "next to nothing." I see nothing in my post about being "more noble" than focusing on "creating a business."
For some reason I've always been able to do more than one thing at a time, you know, like walking AND chewing gum? I make GREAT money and have created a thriving business. And I've been able to help people and entertain people. All at the same time! Imagine that. It's like the old truism: follow your heart and the rest will follow. It's interesting. EVERY (not some, but every) person I've seen who studied hypnosis in order to make a bunch of money has failed. Every one. On the other hand, many of those who studied hypnosis because they love it and want to help others and/or entertain--and have taken their studies seriously enough to realize that to accomplish their goals they also have to study business practices--have succeeded and continue to do so. |

Have no fear guys. I am alive and well. You see I like to spend time with my wife and family more than being on the internet.
At any rate I can't believe you guys made this two pages long. I'll try and suffer through the post and pick out the actual knowledge. And Danny here is some math for you. Last year I only worked for 3 months, my shows ranged from $750 to $1350 a pop. Sorry you don't believe the figures but lucky for me the IRS and my CPA does. As far as you guys bashing the course, I guess it is easy to bash something you have never seen. No one from here owns this new and updated course so your comments about it don't register. As far as the sales letter and such, sorry you don't like it. When you come out with your own course feel free to run it as you see fit. Thanks for the comments, here's to page 3. Tim |

According to one check which you published on your sales page, the following link is your address and I'm sorry but the digs are sort of ...ahem not so exclusive for a celebrity such as yourself.

So tell me, what have you learned from your peer group today?

Bob -
I learned this. You're not my peer. Seriously, how many shows have you done in the last year? Also where is your Stage Hypnosis Course? If Geoff Ronning contacted me and said hey man I'd do this over this, then I might care at what he says. Hell even in Nongrad emailed me it might get read. And I also learned this - don't let others pee on you and tell you it's raining. I know this program works because it's what I used to do my shows with. I know the marketing works because it puts money in my pocked all the time. Oh and I know the sales letters work because if you look around they are everywhere. I decide to keep the numbers realistic and people tell me they aren't high enough but if I bumped them then people would say they were to high. I also learned to laugh more. Because getting upset about it isn't worth my time. You guys bash a program you haven't even spent the money to learn about OR put into action. There were some great comments on here that I will take to heart and make some changes, but other than that you can't please everyone nor do I intend to. By the way if you sent me a PM about this I deleted it and please don't waste both of our times by sending it again. Tim PS: Sid don't be impressed with my house. I mean I work 4 months out of the entire year to make enough to live off while others kill themselves with 9-5 jobs they hate 365 days a year. I have no debt and everything in my life I own. Guess having money in the bank and no debt isn't for everyone. And I never said I was a celebrity, thanks for stalking me though. |

I think we SHOULD ask Ronning what he thinks of this effort. I believe he may find it ironic that it is not YOUR material. Hmm something seems to be familiar here Tim.
Tim, if you wanted only to be hearing opinions from those with courses you should have sent about 5 emails instead of posting this here. But you wanted everyone to say how great it was how they loved it and you and how perfect it was. Well it is not. Sorry. You do make claims of teaching how to make big money fast, with a subject you are woefully inequipt to speak about. You prove it here, you prove it on your web page and this in general will be bad for hypnosis. The sad thing is you will entice a few bargain hunters and take their money. Ok Tim here we go again, try to use a calculator for your next story. It will serve you better. I mean dude what exactly do you need a CPA for if you only make $23 grand a year? The worst part Tim is you make it seem as if it is easy. You know full well it is not from your past. You are selling dreams and outright fabrications. I guess money in the bank is not for everyone Tim. Heck after paying taxes, paying for the house, having a lavish lifestyle for your family, how much of $23 grand can be in the bank at the end of the year?

Its not raining its p-issing you are lying on your back peeing on yourself. Your marketing works like mass unemployment...just because its everwhere doesn't mean it works. Youve swiped a letter somewhere and turned it into a tacky spoof. You show your lack of knowledge in both marketing and hypnosis that takes some talent. Anyone who hands over money to you must be mentaly unstable. |

I gotta admit, I'm a little unclear about the purpose of your posting, Tim.
Initially, you wrote: Quote:
I am about to fully relaunch the stage hypnosis program first brought to the market by Bill O'Connell. I have updated a lot of it and am interested in your opinion. But now you've written: Quote:
As far as you guys bashing the course, I guess it is easy to bash something you have never seen. No one from here owns this new and updated course so your comments about it don't register. So first you say you want our opinion--although you don't say if you want it about the course or the ad--then you say that comments about the course "don't register" because no one has it (which is what I pointed out earlier) and if people don't like the ad, too bad. So it seems to me that a) You didn't know what you wanted (unlikely) b) You changed your mind when people didn't bend over kissing your hind end (still not likely) c) Tried to disguise directing people to an ad in the hope people here would fall over themselves to give you their money instead of being honest and just saying, "Go see my ad for the course." (BINGO!) I have several of the original Hypnosis Secrets products on videotape and on audio cassette. I like them. I think they're pretty good (although, as I posted, the staring at the camera can be disconcerting). However, I don't have the entire course. IF you had just been straight and honest with the way you directed people to your ad and if your ad had actually explained how, exactly, you changed the material, and considering the price point for your material, I would have purchased it. However, the deceptive way you directed people to the site, your unwillingness to explain how you had changed the material, the exploitative nature of the add with its nonsensical and unbelievable 90% discount has succeeded in turning me off completely. Yeah, I'm only one consumer, but it's one that you won't have. |

"By the way if you sent me a PM about this I deleted it and please don't waste both of our times by sending it again."
Tim, I hope you're not referring to "me" wasting "your" time? I sent several PM's so as not to bring this up here on public forum and add to the mountain of criticism already. Would have liked to settle in private. (Would still like to if possible) But you never gave me a direct response. This is not about "sales letter". This is concerning my recent purchase of this course and your failure to deliver upon your promise to send to me. You wasted MY time & effort so far. I'm a "customer" (a paying customer) who took time and effort to send you money for product you offered for sale. Is this how you intend to conduct your "business"? I would truly hope not. Just let me know, one way or another, are you a man of your word and you are sending product as promised or not? If it's no then tell me no. It's just not right to ignore my emails and then try to just dismiss me here with a vague reference to my PM's. As I said in PM, would have liked to be a source of positive feedback for your course as I am already familiar with Bill O'Connell course. I think one satisfied customer (with positive testimonial) will help you get off to a great start much better than 1 disgruntled customer. Still hoping this is just some minor setback/delay. ..... oh just for the record, you've never received a pm from me, ever. And of course you won't in future.
Now then, what about Stephen? Are you going to do the right thing or not?! You have hos money but haven't deluvered what you promised? This nightmare is getting worse!!! I hope no one puts this thread on the net!

Well it is possible all of us are wrong and ol Tim had so many orders he just could not keep up with them.
Maybe he is too busy counting all his money from all those shows he does.

For the record. Tim did finally did refund my payment for this ebay purchase of Hypno Course. (No it was not the sales letter that persuaded me..this was just prior to release of Sales Letter). He does not owe me any money, however, was "unable" to deliver product at the time but assured that it would be coming. I sent PM only to find out when this would be. Don't want to give the impression that Tim took off with my money. He did not. Stephen
