I really get a lot of great use out of a member here's Divine Number. It meets all the criteria above. Also Colin's routine meets the same criteria that he put out on his new DVDs.

About Paul Brooks serial killer, that actual method was used by Dunninger well over 50 years ago in his stage performances and is well documented in a few books see,Henry Gordons world of magic page 84 and 85.

Maxime Montier and I have come up with an app that lets use divine which digit someone is thinking of from a Euro banknote serial number. The great thing is that you can do it over the phone!
We call it EuroDivine and it is available from the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/eurodivine/id466322750?mt=8 "It's great! Sweet and simple and indeed perfectly suited to amaze someone over the phone!" - Pit Hartling Kostya |

I could use some suggestions on Max Krause's supreme serial killer, is anyone just tossing the bills on the table and having a spectator choose one and then devine the serial number ? Without asking for change and going back to your wallet?

Instead of demanding that there be "no quick peeks, no speed reading, no switches, no assistants, no pickpocketing, no thread, no trap doors, no rough & smooth, no palming, and no hocus pocus," why not just switch their d@mn bill and make them forget you touched it?
This "no touching" criteria will impress magicians/mentalists, but a layperson will be impressed by "their" unsigned coin that bent in their hand, as well as "their" dollar bill that they never perceived you touching, whose serial # you knew. The advertisements which incessantly sell these "no palm" card to wallet methods, etc., or whatever, only entice those who would be better off developing these skills. Advertisers also often say something like, "no NailW!" as if that method has become antiquated and unreliable. If there's a floating bill without a thread, I'd be willing to bet it won't look near as good as one anchor on the table, and the other anchor bandaided to your ear. |

Look at the performance of Tim Conover. Then you will see why it's so much stronger!

I saw a video of Spelmann divining a serial # from a crumpled up note in a wine glass he was holding. I can't find that video anywhere now.

Lee Earle has a good one but does require a bit of a switch. Its very clean though. I have it on my shelf somewhere and can look it up if needed. But you specify no switches so didn't bother till you ask. Ive used the Teleport envelopes in my last routines using serials. Also very clean. I like Lee's version mainly because you can do it anytime and anywhere if needed. Often when challenged, I will use it.
