When I do podium work at a trade show, it means I carry my own sound and portable table, etc...so that's about 50 pounds. I use a Kart- A- Bag rolling cart which will hold up to 150 pounds. the cart folds up and goes with me on the plane. It weighs about 5 pounds and is stored with my trades how podium ON THE TRADE SHOW FLOOR.
(I don't allow the floor managers to put into storage at the convention center. otherwise you must wait for hours when the trade show booths are broken down to make your exit.) |

When I did trade shows the company provided the podium/table.

I'm planning on a table or a table on top of a case. Hadn't considered sound, thanks for the tip.

Some shows don't allow amplified sound.

I could tell a hundred stories about competing performers, and battles with trade show floor managers that I have seen or (heard). ...which is why some of these trade show 'rules' get started.
But Greg is right, and they can get skittish about sound. Occasionally, they come around with a decibel meter while you are doing your pitch. But I'd have a sound system anyway..just to be sure. Even when the client supplies the sound equipment , I bring my own wireless rig , connectors, and microphone(s). It doesn't take up much space and it allows me to control the circumstances better. |

Thanks - I'll look for a small system to use in the booth.
