My original avatar was (rightfully) removed when it violated the "complete requirements for avatar use in the 'Cafe Rules and Ettiquette' forum". I uploaded a new one that (hopefully) is suitable, but after a very brief search through several forums I noticed several (and no, I won't name them here) avatars that appear to violate the rules. My question is this...Why aren't all avatars that don't meet the requirements (with the exception of Mya Angel, which was already covered by Steve ) removed?

Good question.

Basically we are not always aware of an avatar or rule violation of our various members. We are extremely understaffed and do our best to keep up with the Café every day. From time to time members may violate a rule or perhaps change their avatar to something that is not in line with our guidelines. With an average of 200 - 300 new posts made each day and some 40,000 plus members it is very difficult to always spot a problem.

However, YOU can help us by reporting such violations. Simply use the REPORT THIS POST link (available on every post made to this website) and give a brief explanation as to the problem. By doing so, the post and member will be flagged and the matter brought to our attention where we can make a decision one way or the other.

There are currently 4672 avatars on the Café. It is impossible to check everyone everyday but as Steve said, you can help by reporting any that you think violate our rules. I try to review them all at least once a month but that is not always possible.

You guys do a good job at what you do anyhow Dave
