Just recieved an email from the creative genious that is Cameron Francis. A very exciting opertunity to see what two magic legends come up with them they bang their heads together. Here's the info:
"Just wanted to let you know that I will have a brand new download up onthe site at Midnight tonight. The trick is called Turbulence and it is afull throttle, knockout three phase card routine. This trick is acollaboration between Peter Duffie and myself and I must say that I'm veryproud of it. Loads of magic. Easy to do. Resets instantly. What more couldyou ask for? This is a 16 minute video download. Here's the blurb: From the Fertile & Devious Minds of Cameron Francis & Peter Duffie Comes .. Turbulence In Turbulence, the impossible becomes possible. Turbulence is a multi-phase card routine that is both mind-bending andentertaining. Effect: Turbulence kicks off with a sizzling and super clean “Collectors” phasewhere four Kings instantly collect three previously signed cards. Then, inthe blink of an eye, the three cards instantly vanish. The three cards arethen reproduced as they are summoned from the deck one by one. Finally, the Kings are placed in your pocket and an impossible transposition occurs— the Kings are suddenly found on the table while the three signed cardsare cleanly removed from your pocket! No palming! Use any deck and simply add some standard gaffs that 95% of you willalready have. Not only that; the trick is easy to do and resets instantly!" After checking this out I can say whole heartedly, This is absolutly wicked. Not for the close up table hopper mind you. this is a fully functioning, hard core routine. so much magic and so incredibly clever. Brilliantly thought out and a brilliant combination of classic plots and gorgeous lashings of slick moves. This is a brillaint trick if you want to truly enguage the audience. It does require a couple of gimicky things but I'm guessing everyone has them. there as common as common can be. Check it out tonight: http://www.cameron-francis.com Best Wishes, Jamie Daws

Looks wicked - especially the final transposition of kings with signed selected cards!

Hi Jamie
Thank you for your post with positive comments. I must say the header of this thread sounds like a Death-Match between me and Francis. However, Francis is a highly skilled practitioner in the arts of: Tai Chi, Broad Sword & Fisticuffs. So I agree with everything he says Peter

Can I adjust the sequence of the spelling? I suppose so, but just to be sure.
The numbers "two" and "three" are in the Dutch language respectively "twee" and "drie". |

That's right, don't mess with The Francis!
Guys, there is a new explanation video in the works. The last one had a few sound glitches... (i.e. my phone rang in the background). The new video will be sent to all of those who have purchased the effect.

Waterloophai, you can use different values and count down to them as opposed to spelling them.

Hi, Vinny. Turbulence is not just one trick. Rather it is three tricks which have been routined together:
A Collectors Effect A Spelling Effect An impossible Transpo All done using the same gaffs. It's a little mini card act. You could do it in four minutes or stretch it out to seven minutes depending on your presentation.

I just bought this and I really love it. Not hard to do at all, instant reset, a really well rounded routine. IF you would like, you could even each different part of the trick as a stand alone effect if you are limited on time or something. Really great job guys!

I should also mention Cameron has a promotion going on at his website where you buy one download and get one free of equal or lesser value. Its really worth buying this from him as you will get two, possibly three amazing tricks by cameron for the price of one.

The last phase looks really impossible. As a fan of the collectors plot, I've never seen this subtlety before yet I'll definitely try this one.
If you really want to avoid the teeny tiny discrepancy (which is not really a big deal but this is just an idea), you may use four Jokers that you place in one wallet with the special cards under the packet. It also allows you to add or remove the special cards very openly. You may justify this by saying something like : "In a deck of cards you may find two jokers. In some decks you may even find three jokers. But you'll never find four jokers as they have special powers when gathered all together". I suggest you to correct my english before saying this line, of course.

After watching the fine video-demo I remember a similar routine
from Allan Ackerman: 76 Collectors. They are different, but have "some" similarities... |

Yes, the Jokers are a very good idea.
Kjellstrom, the 76 Collector's routine is terrific. It was not actually an inspiration for this routine but it is a great one!

Cameron & Peter have done a great job here, as usual. This is a strong routine which packs a lot of magic with very little work.
This is extremely well routined and the clever usage of the simple gaffs make this very clean too. As others have mentioned, you wont use this strolling, but you WILL use it! The explanation video is very clear and I can't imagine anyone not being able to follow it. This is the kind of magic that I really enjoy. For $10.50, this really is great value. Iain. |

It is not a question of following the effect, the problem for me there is so much going on it is hard to digest..perhaps in real time the effect would play much better with pauses ....This is all I am saying.

Iain, thanks so much. Means a lot to me.
Vinny, absolutely. I go through the effect at a brisk pace on the demo (mostly to keep the file size down). But in real life, I do it at a much slower pace. I haven't timed it but when I do this for real people, I think it goes on for about five minutes. I pause and chat for a moment before the last phase. Funnily enough, when we were developing this, I wasn't sure how the spelling sequence would play for lay people. I thought it might be boring. I was obviously thinking too much like a magician because it's not! They love it! Even my wife, who basically rolls her eyes every time I show her a new trick said that she thought the spelling phase was really fun. Go figure.
