Umm well since most of my marketing is Online let me break down what I use
1. Website 2. Newsletter / Email (only about a 7% open rate so EHH) 3. LinkedIN 4. Twitter 5. Guest Blogging 6. Article Writer for MOP's sites (getting out of Kid's party market so have phased this out totally NOW, but about 2 years ago was a HUGE lead generation system for me) 7. Video releases 8. Press Releases 9. Web 2.0 properties 10. Social Bookmarking OK so before I give away my whole traffic strategy I'll stop (-= but basically I HATE.. HATE.. HATE.. Cold calling.. and many people used to tell me that is was needed for a balloon guy to get corporate leads... so I decided to get creative and market online.. but it is designed to get them on the phone and not the complete system just one portion of my marketing (just happens to be the biggest)
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite

So basically it comes down to online marketing and offline marketing tactics. I am not looking to steal your secrets...just making a list of brainstorming ideas of how I can promote both online and offline. I will then take that list and design my marketing calander around action steps to take each month. When I know there is a topic that I need to research...I will buy the materials and EDUCATE myself about the topic and then apply.
P.S. You didn't give away any secrets that I didn't already know..I own David Farrs Traffic Secrets..lol Most I haven't put into use just yet. Overall thanks for you generosity. Charles |

Don't discount the power of the major social networking sites. Facebook, Loopt, etc.
Search for the groups you are trying to market to. Restauranteurs, whatever. Join the network group, and now every time you post an update, it goes right on their "wall" for them to see. I won't say it is super-effective, as no internet marketing is, but you will be able to saturate and build name recognition (I'm a marketing executive for a Fortune 100 company). We do this all the time simply to build awareness of a product/brand. Don't be afraid to subscribe to some blogs/posting sites for industry-specific news/discussion. For instance, if I'm working on developing a campaign for a stainless steel cookware company, I'll head over to Food.com or Epicurious.com and start posting in their general topic forums, about whatever the discussion is...but in my signature line at the bottom of each post, I'll place a buzz-line and link to the product/brand. Show your face enough on those sites, people will occasionally click the link to your target (blog, website, whatever). Sorry, I'm rambling. I talk marketing and lead generation all day long, I kinda get into it ![]()
