Hi all,
I haven't written much on here for ages so...has anyone seen this yet. Patrick Redfords new thing (Cellular Oracle).... It sounds intriguing. I'm not asking for a method just want to know if anyone has any thoughts on it as yet? I couldn't find an existing thread. Cheers, John. |

I got the email, but, in this economy, I figured I'd wait for some feedback before making the purchase.
It definitely sounds really good, and the price seems right too. I very much liked the last book I purchased from Patrick, so I may just pick this up at some point this Labor Day weekend. If I do, I'll definitely let you know what I think. Elliott |

Elliott,
I couldn't agree more -- I've thoroughly enjoyed Patrick's books and all. Anyhow, I'll looking forward to hearing your review should you pick it up, as I too am intrigued. David |

I just placed my order.

My first thought, an hour after placing my order, is that this does not appear to be an automatic download
I guess I'll read the Sunday paper, instead. |

Bummer -- guess that we'll have to wait that much longer
Anything interest in the news today? |

Got it. I was about to head out, so I'll probably read it later tonight. At first glance (literally about 5 seconds,) it appears that the information within will prove useful to me.

I got back, and quickly read through the instructions. It’s interesting and may or may not be your “cup of tea.” Still, it should be more than worth it for those that will use it, and $10 is not much money to risk in any case. Don’t expect things to play out exactly as written in the ad, though.

Is this pretty much the same effect that appeared in "Mendacity" ?

I'm curious, how does the effect and dealers ad compare?

I think I answered that question.

I was asking for more specifics as you said not to expect it to play out like the dealers ad.

I see. That seems fair.

Can you offer insight, Elliott?

I’d rather not provide specifics, as I’d probably end up tipping things that I should not be tipping. Perhaps, prior to purchase, you might request the dealer provide a performance-only video, so that you can see exactly how the effect plays. You might like it.

Hi folks.
While I think the copy reads fair, I'll make some clarification. While there are ways around this explained in the text, the routine does use a NW, BUT only during the phase where the performer guesses the imaginary dialed digits. The performer is still able to describe the thought of subject without gimmicks. The performer is able to name the thought of person without fishing or asking the subject to write down any information. Of course, if you want to play on a psychological force technique, this is certainly a viable option as it doesn't matter if the performer gets this part right. The real power of the effect is proving the correlation between the named numbers and the final phase where a third (or is that fourth party) names both of the digits named previously. I'm happy to answer specific questions about the effect as well. I'm approachable, as you already know Tim as we've spoken in the past, so feel free to ask! Cellular Oracle is a nineteen page document that covers much more than the original in Mendacity. The additions here being that I've added: an interesting addition that can be done with an I-phone, some specifics about performing this in a theater environment, the final phase where a third party is able to name the digits just named by the two subjects, I've eliminated the clumsiness of the subjects naming colors and have instead focused just on the number theme. Further, I explain to those who have Docc's CM2 and/or Cellular Mitosis how to combine the two effects. As a bonus, I've also added a hack for those who own a Super Sharpie, but have had trouble controlling it. This allows one to use the super sharpie even more covertly and with greater stability. Kind Regards, PGR |

I have to agree with Elliott - for $10 it's worth the gamble, especially after reading what Patrick says above.
Patrick, thanks for posting the above, helps to clarify things -- I'm on my way to your site now David |

Well I finally have it and it is definitely worth a mere $10 IMHO. There are a lot of methods and psycological devices being used here so well worth the read for that if nothing else. I doubt I will use it on stage purely because I can't see a way (yet) of making it fit my style, but I will certainly consider using it for those impromptu moments.

So I picked it up, finally as well. My concern was that this was just a re-hashing of what was in Mendacity. While the first part of the routine shares a method, this seems to expand on it quite a bit in many different ways.
I haven't tried it yet, but I hope to soon. I'll report back once I've had a chance to give it a go. -Tim |
