This is a professionally made deck of cards for Max Maven's effect of the same title that is explained on Maven's VideoMind vol 1. It's an excellent effect. I don't own a set of the cards, but if they are well-made they are definitely worth it as the effect is killer.

The Mind's Eye Deck is a very strong design divination effect that uses an interesting pack of 40 design cards. These cards are very well produced, and the combined cards and routine represent an excellent value to the discriminating performer.

Hocus-Pocus definitely has it. It's a good effect, but a bit pricey for what you get (I also didn't think it was cut as good as it should have been). Note that you do not get any instructions with it, so you need to have Max Maven's video that explains the effect.

I haven't used the Mind's Eye deck that is professionally made, but I've used one I made myself (I used to work in a print shop) for a few years now and it's a great effect. The fact that you can repeat it and have a different outcome every time is great! It gets a great response every time.

I bought mine several years ago and it was well cut and came with good instructions. I first read about it in the Green Book of Mentalism so it dates back to at least 1977.
I've found it to be a very powerful effect on its own or as part of a longer routine. For example, you can use it preshow for a three phase routine. Also, I've used it at home when entertaining guests to cue my ten year old daughter who was sitting nearby "not paying any attention" reading a book. After I struggled and failed to do the revelation, I mentioned that my daughter seems to have the "gift" and asked her to put her book down and try and divine the drawing. She got all the glory but we both had a lot of fun! |

The Mind's Eye Deck is featured on Vol 1 of Max Maven's Videomind series.
The Mind's Eye Deck - A pack of some 40 design cards is used. Each one is different, and the deck is shuffled. While the performer's back is turned, a spectator removes a card. Without turning around, the mentalist starts describing the thought - of design, eventually drawing it on a pad of paper. It's as straightforward as that. I bought mine off Ebay, brand new condition, though I think Steven's Magic Emporium still stock it. Recommended!!! |
