I wanted to enquire about the reputation of a specific dealer (a seemingly large US website) to see if it's normal for them to take their customers' money, give nothing back in return and not answer a single email.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere to discuss dealers at all. With so many different discussion topics up for grabs, I'm surprised at this. Am I missing something? |

The part you are missing is that we used to have a forum specifically for the purpose of discussing dealers however, it became an area of flaming and attacking and was actually hurting some dealers who had done nothing wrong.
It became so far out of hand that the forum was eliminated. Presently, discussion concerning specific dealers is not allowed just for that reason.

OK. Thanks for clearing that up.
I can understand how such a situation came to be but the net is a commercial place just like the real-world and with such specialist products I do feel that it is a shame that such a policy has been adopted. Flaming and attacking happens on forums concerned with other subjects all over the net and somehow it is possible to reach a consensus. One reads between the lines, weighs up the odds and makes decisions about who are the good guys are and who are the bad. The Magic Café is a wonderful place and I whilst I appreciate that much love, care and hard work must have gone in to setting it up, nurturing it and turning it into what is today, I do personally wonder about the wisdom of this partitive "dealer policy" in the long run. Still. C'est la vie. Thanks for answering my question. |
