Don't want to be a wet blanket, but I certainly will appear to be one!

It looks that a careful routining will be necessary to justify the use of the stock of business cards sometimes. It is nice seeing that you can do many classical effects with this interesting device (I guess it was the main purpose of the videos: show how versatile Alone can be), but sometimes it can look a little bit weird to introduce the cards stack.

During the hidden object search, asking a spectator to look at the words HOT or COLD on a business card is ok because you can justify it (stronger image of these words in the mind) but to ask them to TOUCH the card starts to look a little unusual, as a 'psychic' help request.

For the last video, two persons were required for the effect. If you want to interact standing up with a single spectator you have to come up with a practical way to interact with him in order to let him handle the coin AND the stack of cards/pen. With two spectators, th trouble I see is that it can look a little bit patronizing to ask one of them to note each result; the spectator tossing the coin may actually be able to count the heads/tails tosses in his head without making a cross each time, right? And the other spec is a witness, so the excuse of 'write it down so you can't lie to me' does not apply well here.

I think asking to do unusual or unnecessary things or things that anyone with an acceptable IQ would be able to do without the need to write it down has to be carefuly avoided during the routining of effects with Alone.

these are just a few thoughts that came up to me. I am sure that with time, Each performer will come up with clever ideas. I hope to be one of them, because I am as well interested in this little beast Smile

Cheers,

M

Personally, I think the issues that swiss_magician brought up are valid. But I also believe they can be remedied quite easily, even making the effects stronger. This is the first electronic device that has seriously peaked my interest. A purchase may be in order. I first need to think about how to structure it into my current effects, if Alone can somehow enhance them, and if it could somehow help my current presentational weaknesses as attempt to improve my game.

Christopher

ok the truth, when I watched the original video, my mind said, I could do that with several items in my bag, right now,but when I saw the additional demo's , I of course knew what was involved and realized that I couldn't do those with gimmicks on hand so , the order is in, can't wait to add this to my arsenal, Can see lots of additional bookings, after a short demo to the suits in charge, of hwerever I am pitching to
