What are some of the better published routines for the Linking Rings?

The best one is called "My Favorite Linking Ring Routine."

It goes as follows:

1) Count the rings, showing each ring separately, using your favorite method.
2) Link two rings, using your favorite method.
3) Spin each ring within the other, using your favorite method.
4) Unlink the rings, using your favorite method.
5) Link each ring into the others, using your favorite method.
6) Form figures with the rings using your favorite method.
7) Link all the rings together, using your favorite method.
8) Unlink all the rings, using your favorite method.

This routine can be purchased at your favorite magic dealer. Smile

Okay. I'm yanking your chain. I know that the masthead of the Magic Café says "Magicians Helping Magicians." However, you have to do some of the basic work yourself.

Use the search function up in the upper right hand corner of the page. Also use google, as you may have already found out.

Just to get you started, though, there are three publications that come to mind.
1) Dai Vernon's "Symphony of the Rings."
2) Dariel Fitzkee's "Rings in Your Fingers."
3) Father Al Bandy's "All About Linking Rings."

If you can find Henk Meester's routine that was published by International Magic Studios, that's a good one, too.

There is also a Bob White DVD on the Linking Rings that's supposed to be good, click HERE for more info. And there is a great close-up version called the "Ninja Rings," click HERE for the DVD by Shoot Ogawa. Seth

I've always been fond of Richard Ross' stuff. His style is so smooth. He has a DVD and a book, although I'm not sure if the book is still available.

It does depend on the venue your performing at, but as far as close-up goes... Shoot's is beautiful, although knacky in some phases, it really is hard to beat. You can check his site to order the rings and the video. Sorry I don't have the link, but a quick google search will get you there.

The Richard Ross routine was one of the best. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find, and the rings necessary are even more difficult to locate.

In my opinion, the Whit Haydn Comedy Four Ring routine is the best of all possible ring routines... Smile

Okay, the second best of all possible ring routines. Pete's is the best.

And even more unfortunately, the published routine wasn't even his real performance routine - though that was never made clear to buyers of the book.

2 others worth studying are:
Chris Capehart
Cellini

Sometimes I perform Cellini's routine at my outdoor gig just as people
walk by to attract their attention.

Capehart's routine is a great place to start if you're a busker
wanting to do the rings.

Absolutely true! My oversight at not listing it was completely unintentional.

Wish knew. Am waiting for Pop to pose... no... seriously, I have just finished a book on Eggs, Bags & Gags... should have supply from printer in a few weeks, and half done with a book, titled, "Give a Magician Enough Rope" and await photo of Pop (for real). Third book is started, "A tribute to the magic of Emile Clifton."

These are all 24 pagers, priced at $15 from http://www.stevensmagic.com

Then the 300 page Linking Ring book (99% written, just need to begin laying out the pages for the printer.
