It's a bit of an odd question, really, but how big is the smallest general purpose radio thumper's receiver? I'm becoming slightly obsessed with designing a receiver to be as small as possible, but I'm curious to know which is the smallest commercially available unit at the moment.

Well the soon to be available Promystic "Cue", using the existing
"Multi Dimensional" unit is very very tiny, I don't see that anything could be any smaller really. Steve |

In all seriousness I should imagine that the size would only be limited by the battery and buzzer size utilised . Also a quick thank you to jon for his book on Electronics for Magicians ,its had me buzzing for weeks.

I can build a truly tiny transmitter, but the receiver has to have the power to run the actual thumper motor itself, which, if it's going to run for any length of time, needs a bit of juice. It's an intriguing puzzle! |

Not the smallest thumper you could ever find... but the new 2009 model of the Oyster Duo Max is really a multi-purpose gadget...
http://www.buttontoys.com/uk/Oyster_DUO.html I dare your wife not to be happy with this purchase of yours...

Too funny...
For those using your significant other as a reluctant mentalism partner, this could change her mind. Every time she gets one of your "psychic" signals, it should be a pleasure for her to say so.

Jon,
LOTH's post was a good example of thinking outside the normal train of thought. While my post was whimsical, it didn't run the train of thought totally off the track. Dave
