Try this place:
http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/1367 Lots of fun stuff on this site. I actually do a water trick that I've done for years using a cigar tube. So, it's about 2 oz of water. But, I have to pack the tube carefully since the tube is glass. These little babies won't break, etc. I actually put one on the driveway and jumped on it...a few scratches. I'm also using these to hold mouthwash, etc. on short trips away from home. |

Just wondering whether the water will leak out? Have you tried that?

Yeah. Holds water fine. I mean, it is a 2 liter pop bottle, after all.
Strangely enough, when I browed their web site closer, they sell "THINK INK" (and that's what they actually call it.), they sell the special sand for the Sands of Egypt trick (?), they sell slush powder, snow powder, what appears to be a version of the Hydrostatic glass (using a BELL canning jar), and even have tennis balls with embedded magnets. |

I think Steve's dad was Bruce Spangler, who invented the needle through the arm.

Ah, could be. The web pages state he's from a family of magicians.

I know Steve and Bruce Spangler. You are right Bill. Steve is Bruce's son.
Steve Spangler also works for Channel 9 here in Denver, and does cool science experiments on their news show. Great family! Sammy

Wes:
Not much of an exciting trick. It's the water on the head trick using slush powder. I simply dress it up as an experiment in inertia, and pour the water into the cup from the tube. (I used to use a cigar tube, and dropped it, where upon it shattered. THAT's why I was looking for an unbreakable, unleakable substitute.) But, you can have fun with it. For kids, I have them put their finger in the tube and taste the water and guess what it is. Most will say water. I grin and say, "Nope. It's part of my SPIT collection". Gets a good laugh. I of course, quickly tell them that I'm kidding and it's really just water. |
