For twins i'd use one at the start and the other at the end, I'd make sure the second knew they would be doing something reallly special at the end.
As Mark said you have to be prepared for the different helpers and I don't have four fixed routines like Mark. I play it by ear and adlib and adjust the routine accordingly.

HI,
If it's a joint party or twins I always use both at the same time giving equal attention to both so that it cannot be said that one was favoured over the other. Phillip |

What about participation from the audience that does not involve bringing any child onto the stage. Any thoughts on that type of effect? I.e. Deja Zoo that has two helpers stay where they are in the audience.
My favourite where a child comes up and helps: Sponge balls. |

Re: control of kids movement for what ever reason (card on back and don't want them to move about, b/c they are roudy, or b/c you want to add some funny bits) try this idea from a spin off of standing on a phone book in one of David Ginn's book (I think).
Ask a kid to stand on a telephone book. Now the kid is too tall, remove a few pages, now to short, add a page, - just perfect. Have them stand on the book, they don't realize you are controling their movement w/ this strategy. cheers, j. |

A very interesting way of controlling movement and also getting a laugh at the same time. I also like to do a trick such as "Pet Store Pranks" as it allows the entire group of kids to be involved in the action but remaining in their seats. They get to all help me out when I get every single animal wrong and I get the sounds that they make messed up. Each one egts a chance to correct me and they feel proud and good about themsleves when they do. Of course, in the end the magician always does the magic correctly and finds where the missing snake went to.

My version of Comedy Card on Back, called Lion Hunt. I use animal cards from taken from a folder that looks like a barn/farm. A lion appears in the cards, made to vanish. Child dressed up in khaki vest, pith helmet and given net to go on lion hunt. the lion is found (on my back, not child's) then placed in the Zoo (a folder that looks like a cage)

A nice idea. I like several things that you do in that presentation. - You dress up the child in ths costumes and make them feel a part of the magic - Your telling a great story and themed it all around the safari. This keeps the kids attention span better - You have the lion on your back which takes the heat or pressure off of the child. Nice stuff.
