I just got word this morning that long time member here and pal of mine Marty Saski passed away a few days ago. Marty was a great guy and a huge supporter of local magic. He was often at the mystery lounge, and I was always happy to get a chance to chat with him after the show. A SUPER smart guy (He went to MIT but he didn't brag about it), very knowledgeable about magic, and he always had something good to say about everybody.
Marty LOVED busking and had a lot of posts in this section so I'm sure some of you recognize the name. Marty also had a blog http://www.martys-simple-things.com/ I'm pretty broken up about it, he was a great guy and I'm gonna miss him. "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! I don't know who Marty was and it doesn't make any difference that I did not know him. It's a very sad thing when we lose one of our own, not to mention another human being. I'm so very sorry you lost your pal. My condolences to you and Marty's family.

Marty was a dear friend, always there to help in anyway he could. He used to come out to the Mystery Lounge to support us; it was there that I last saw him. I spoke with him just a few weeks ago; he was excited about building his street act, and his work on Ring 122’s Silent Messenger. I'll miss his friendship and the entire Boston magic community will miss his support, his enthusiasm, his huge heart, and his love of magic. A bright light has gone out, and our world is dimmer due to his loss.

One of the voices on the Café that I always loved to read. A deep, tragic loss to the community...

I really like the support Marty has given to me on the Café. He is a person I will always remember. I wish I could have met him in person because of his kindness and wisdom. I will never forget the PMs we always shared with each other. Peace to a wonderful member.

I never met Marty but one day out of the blue he PM'd me in response to a post I had made with some very good honest advice.
He must have been a very nice man and I regret never having met him. |

Very sad news. RIP my brother!
Magic is an art. I am merely a tour guide.
