I'm in a fleabag hotel in Hangzhou, China, about 40 minutes drive from the downtown area, arranging the details for the 2009 World Clown festival here that begins in a few days.

For those that don't know, China has many, many restrictions on the internet, and many things I take for granted at home (facebook, facebook, whither art thou, facebook...) are impossible to access here, unless you have some techno savvy which I must admit is beyond me.

BUT! All is not lost: The Magic Café is accessible here in China! And when I have been sitting in a smoke-filled office waiting for my translator to help me make sense of the chaos around me, I can have my 'Calgon take me away' moment and log on to the good ol' Café and hear what's going on in a part of the world that is more familiar.

So, thanks, Magic Café for doing whatever you do to be easy to access here and giving me moments of sanity and normality.
