I know that you folks in the UK play Cluedo but we call it Clue. What is the difference?
In the US we have 9 locations, 6 weapons and 6 suspects. We try to decide who did the murder, where and with what. Thanks Dave

my friend Paul Bell (Voodini) has a Cluedo routine (based very roughly on an idea of mine) in our little joint venture - The Five Fickle Fingers of Fate... there's been several over the years...

Thanks!!!
As you know we have a large percentage of UK visitors here in Orlando and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't confuse anyone with our version of the game. I've read most of the google information but I just need to know of any problematic differences. Possibly different names but the idea remains the same. I can't really see any major problems at this point.

I always had a bit of a thing for Ms Scarlett.
There's also a card game http://www.amazon.co.uk/Top-Cards-Cluedo......0&sr=8-1 and a Harry Potter version (if you really must) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-Cluedo-Ha......8&sr=8-1

The latest version of Clue includes some new weapons...bat, pistol, candlestick, knife, rope, axe, dumbbell, poison, and trophy.
No wrench. I do like the Trophy Mrs. White you see is no longer a mere maid but a former child star. |

I have a Confabulation routine in which I use the Cluedo/Clue concept. Most people are familiar with the game and the audience collectively decide on the Murderer, Weapon and location. I write the information they provide in my notebook and take it from there.
I even precede the trick by setting up the actual story provided with the game. The whole presentation works very well. Leslie
Stories....?....That's telling!

I will eventually get the Harry Potter game just to go with the new mini-park in Orlando.
I've just finished the special surprises for my presentation. Should work for Brits and Floridians alike. THANKS EVERYONE !!!!!!

What a coincidence!!!!!
As many of you may know I am releasing a product along with Christopher Taylor from Taylor Imagineering called ALONE. Every week we are releasing performance videos of effects possible with ALONE. We shot an effect some time ago based around the game of Clue/Cluedo, it therefore seemed like the perfect video to release this week. To watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5swhzsTIF30 To view the thread on ALONE: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......tart=120 As an Englishman living in Canada for the past 11 years I have a unique perspective on this game as I grew up playing Cluedo (in the UK) & am now forced to call the game CLUE in Canada so people know what I am talking about :o) It would appear (to me) that there is no difference other than the name. Many of the components of the game have been redesigned over the years in both countries but both names refer to one in the same game. Matt Johnson P.S. Leslie mentions the use of a confabulation type routine for Clue. You could indeed link a confabulation type routine with ALONE where the spectator could simply think of their choices rather than saying them out loud.....hmmmm, now there is an idea. |

I have a Clue effect I plan on performing in one of the attendee shows at Mindvention. Unlike other versions this uses all of the elements of the real game; the board, the weapon pieces, the character pieces, the cards, and the envelope. It tries to duplicate what happens in the real game.

Just a heads up. Last night I used Devin Knights 1984 Ultimate Prediction for a Cluedo themed routine.
Went over really well. Still need to sort out the loose ends but its a brilliant theme to use whatever method you decide to do. M |

Matthew, I'm not familiar with Devin Knights 1984 Ultimate Prediction. Could you either describe it here or PM me?
Thanks, Ted
