First, what were some of your favorite tv theme shows?
Two of mine are Outer Limits and The Invaders. Both of these were very scary to me. Both the music and the tone of the announcer's voice really added to the mood of the series. Am I mistaken, or is the voice for both of these the same person?

It catches the mood of the show, has a nice tune and a beginning, middle and end like a piece of serious music, is performed perfectly, and is so catchy that it sticks in your head all day. Great, great tune. |

The original poster was talking (I think) about the entire intro, not just the music.
Two great ones come to mind in addition to the Twilight Zone (which is perfect): 1. "Space, the final frontier...." 2. "When you can take this pebble from my hand...." |

Your ONE-STOP theme song headquarters!! Have fun, kiddies! These are not all from the 60's, as the topic indicates, but I bet you'll find some on here you'd forgotten about, and undoubtedly some you've never heard before! (This is addictive!)

Branded.
One of the greatest tv intros of all time What do you do when you're branded, and you know you're a man? Oddly enough, though I can sing the theme all the way through, I never once watched the show.

Combat was the fav of the tunes for me. Also, the way the screen would change with the shooting.
Twilight zone used to freak me out too much. But, put the two together and you end up with a real tragedy! |

So I have this question: who said, "Good morning, Mr. Phelps"? I guess I could look it up, but I'd like to see if anyone here knows.

Stanalger, a NAME would help! Thanks! I also know that Phelps was not the first leader of the IMF force. And I am fairly certain that Woody Allen starred in one of the first episodes as an IMF agent.
Just to clarify, I am not just talking about the music only, although those were great too, but the entire intro. They set the tone for the entire show/series and allowed you to understand what was going on. They just don't make good theme songs & intros anymore.
