From the magnificent mind of Daniel Sylvester is Comb Over. A manipulation routine using a hair comb. The demo looks great and you might see one of his other creations in action.

I personaly think it looks great and can't wait to pick one up and review it.

I know about the SD part. I meant the grab and throw. I always loved that.

Gotcha...the vanish you're talking about is the old f***s**** move. Fun routine, but you would need to think of another way of ending it if you don't use SD.

Is this impromptu, aside from the final vanish with the SD holdout?

I spent a few hours with Dan at Dean Dills shop a couple of months ago when he was perfecting these moves - Dan is a really clever guy. This is a quirky effect that will work well for some performers - what you see is what you get - the final vanish is accomplished with a method which Dan teaches and sells. It's very clever and very original! With respect for his creativity, I would hope that Café members will refrain from speculation and/or comments about his methods.
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

I think it's only fair to point out that the final vanish of the comb needs a marketed item. If you don't have it or don't wear suspenders you won't be able to accomplish this the way Dan does.

I love Dan's work and know he is brilliant, however am I the only one that thought that the steal at the end was horrible? I know his thinking and I really believe he could have came up with something much better than that. It reminds me of a bad balloon to dove, the only thing is that he is much clever and better than that steal.

I also think that this routine is pretty lackluster.
Most of the moves are from his coin video and just applied to the comb.

Dan is one of the most original magicians there is but this is not that great in my opinion.

I felt the same way. There is no motivation at all for reaching around for the steal, and no cover. It's a weird moment and I find it hard to believe that a guy as clever as Dan, could not find a better steal, or a better time to steal, then that.

you drown by staying there.
