1-If you are going to smash 10" thick blocks of ice on your stomach with a sledgehammer, make sure that the blocks are really cold, or the sledgehammer bounces unless you hit it twice as hard (Lots of flexibility in ice when it is slightly warm)
2- If you have the ice sufficiently cold enough to crack instead of flexing, make sure that you put a towel between the block and your naked stomach, otherwise it sticks to your stomach like a tongue to a frosted flagpole. Then when it breaks...There can be a bit of ripping. 3- Guard your face. Ice does not behave quite as nicely as a brick. Sharp, heavy shrapnel everywhere. But at least you have ice to reduce the pain... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/g......mash.jpg Gwyd |

Thanks...And no...Her hat did not move a bit.
We were doing a promotional event for some ice carving friends of ours. You can't see it but that was done full circle with about 300 spectators. It was a lot of fun, and I cannot count how many blocks of ice were destroyed. After the first day of doing it, we added the towel so I wouldn't bleed. Here is what Sylver got to do... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/g......ycle.jpg Gwyd |

I've had cold cheeks before but that must have been extreme.
