Do you think it is really a conveinceing illusion for use in most venues, and how easy would you say it is for a builder to build. The reason being is that I have been having most of my new illusions built by my own local building base, this save lots of money on shipping.

It is a good illusion! However it plays in a strange way... The audience thinks they are with you until you start pulling the pieces out with the door open. They never really applaud because they think they have you and then when the magic moment happens they are so fried that the just sit there and wonder.

I tech a show for an illusionist that performs the effect. He built his on his own (he has a lot of experience building illusions) and he was able to improve the design and make it even more deceptive... I like it in his show because it gives a different feel than the other illusions. It will take some stage time to get the performance right but I think it is a great working illusion.

Its a great illusion. One of my teachers performs it and it still amazes me!

Looking at the videos that those have made of thier versions, the base for this is verymuch similar to that of another Steinmyer creation. I am not going to say, as I do not want another knock off being built by someone.

I really like Lady In The Puzzle and I want to like it more, but it just doesn't quite "get there" for me. The costume change does improve it somewhat, though. This is one of the better performances I have seen, but that last piece that never gets removed sort of kills the effect.

Am I overanalyzing it?

Are there other videos out there of this illusion that I might have missed?

The first time I saw this effect I didn't realize that the last piece wasnt removed. I think that if the last 2 pieces stayed and the ungimmicked piece was turn at an angle would eliminate some of that.

Some folks also leave the last ones in (2) and move the "moveable" one over to beside the other. Then they put in the balance.

I love this Illusion!! I have performed with mine in many different shows! The only problem is always finding the right assistant for the job! Specifications are very important with this cool Illusion!!

Hope this helps with all your questions!!

Good Luck!

Some folks also remove ALL the blocks!!! This makes it really deceptive.
