I did the online application to the IBM several days ago but was not aware of the requirement for endorsements from members. I saw those fields on the form but they were not marked as required and the online form has poor instructions or elucidation of requirements so I left them blank. I don't know anyone who is currently a member so I couldn't have filled them anyway. Then I read the paper form and they seem to be required.
I guess my membership will be rejected? I paid them the money too. I guess they will refund it if they reject me right? How long does it take them to process applications? So, how can I meet some IBM members to endorse me? I live in Korea and have yet to find any magic shops here or places magicians congregate.

You won't be rejected, Bryan. If by some fluke you are, let us know here. There are a number of members who will co-sponsor you. Several international members have placed their names on a list at HQ as sponsors for prospective members, like yourself, who don't know other I.B.M. peers. You'll be covered one way or another.
I'll take a look at the instructions and pass your suggestion on to the membership chair. Welcome to the family!

Yes your application will appear in the Linking Ring with the President and possibly the Administrator showing as your sponsors. If not, there are plenty of us here who will be glad to sponsor you.

Thanks, Skip. The other issue besides not really explaining of you need sponsors or not is that it doesn't explain why there is an extra $15 added on to the price. Might want to bring that up when you are talking about changes to that form.
Thanks for the offer, Trey. I'll take you up on it when I learn if my application is accepted or not. How long does it usually take to get a reply?

Bryan, after looking at the PDF hardcopy application:
The PDF application form states: "Application fees and dues for the first year are $65.00; dues thereafter are $50.00 annually." The $15.00 is the Application Fee - Dues are $50.00. That makes perfect sense to me, but I suppose it could be stated more clearly. Directly beneath the membership descriptions and above the membership selection, the PDF form states "Two Active Members must endorse all applicants." This is underlined to stand out and is the last thing read before selecting a membership class. The endorsements are clearly marked at the end of the application. Maybe not as clear as it could be, but the information is printed on the application. I'll pass your suggestions on to the powers above.

Yes, both of those things are stated quite clearly on the PDF form. I'm talking about the online form, though. The one that can be found here: https://www.magician.org/portal/ibm_membership
If one applies via the online form, there is no reason they would ever look at the PDF form.

Bryan, I've passed your observations on to Sindie Richison at HQ and to Terry Richison, our Membership Chair. Thanks for pointing them out. We should have a response shortly.
