I have been performing "Thought Chunnel" by Josh Quinn for quite some time, it has never let me down. Seriously, I mean it has never failed on numerous gigs and with countless people. Until last night where the unthinkable happened.
Had the participant select a book from her shelf and select a word from that book. Then had her think of a fruit. The fruit came out as DAMSON. For 'foodies' and jam makers, the damson fruit may crop up. Of course if the person has trouble thinking of the next possible choice of a precious stone then you will most likely be dealing with a case of the dreaded damson. Hopefully this post will help you to never be caught out by those home jam making biddies Oh, and there is a possibility of Dragon Fruit, but I cover this by saying, "Oh and to make sure you have as much choice as possible do not select something that contains the word fruit, such as Kiwi Fruit, as it will limit you." Right, that's my good deed for the day, now I'm off to kill small kittens to balance things out! Cheers, -Paul

Ha, I've never had that one come up yet. In fact I've never even heard of a damson until now. Thanks for the heads up!
Oh, and glad to hear it worked for you all the other times.

No worries Paul. I realized too late that my reply may have sounded snarky or defensive, and it certainly wasn't meant to; I really am glad you've had success with the effect.

I've had Thought Chunnel fail a couple of times as well...mainly because I chose the wrong spectator. One time I told the person to think of a word and went through the process and I got it wrong so I asked what state did she think of...and she said Denver

I've used the line "lets start off easy, cos it'll get more and more interesting and weird as we go along...for this first choice...make it nice and easy and obvious to imagine please..." that seems to, so far, get me what I need...
saying that, I could just be lucky! I've only had a couple of awkward b&ggers...

I've had it fail a couple of times because when I get to the animal for them to think of. It's alligator or antelope and I have gotten ardvark a lot. So I have had to adjust a little if things go that way.

This effect sounds like a winner.
Just to clarify, is the effect only available in the book, or is it also sold as a single effect? |

Where in Thought Chunnel is there an item for "precious stone" Paul?
Also, where is Thought Chunnel is there an "animal" item Wolfenout? You guys must be performing the wrong effect Anyway, I do it on the phone or online only, since I cant risk certain parts of it while I live outside of the US! I have NEVER had it fail this way, and when I follow it up with Jason Messina's online version of Wi, it usually promotes me to "Messiah" status lol Kam
If I speak forth, many a mind will shatter,
And if I write, many a pen will break. .....and when I consider my own self, lo, I find it coarser than clay! |

Paul,
Does 'Thought Chunnel' work for us here in the UK (I believe 'Thought CHANNEL' is aimed at the US market) Chris |

'Thought Chunnel' does work in the UK but you have to adapt it a little. It is not 100% but so far I have had about 90% success with it.
It is very adaptable and with a little thought can be taken in lots of directions. It’s a wonderful tool from a wonderful book.
You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view.
Many Thanks Garrad |
