I've drawn a blank trying to locate the source of Duraslite. The company on the Youtube video have no knowledge of it. I'm giving up on this for the time being and working with the selection of coverings I have to hand right now.
I've been a bit busy lately, and it's nice to get a bit of "leisure" time. Doing what I WANT to do, rather than doing what I HAVE to do! DCB

We use black suede a lot. As far as how good it is, it all depends on what you are used to. Some people prefer the green mali which we also use, or black velvet.

Ray.. Interesting. I've never heard of Mali - so I looked it up in Wikipedia - apparently, it's a land locked nation in Western Africa with a population of 13 million. Is it an abbreviation for something? I'm thinking that black suede or black velvet wouldn't be so good for outdoor use.. in the rain.
I know most people don't perform in the rain, but it can come down without a whole lot of warning here..I'm g going with some furniture covering right now, which is like a cushioned faux leather, in dark green. Regards;., DCB :)

Mali is a kind of billiard cloth. If you google Mali billiard cloth, you will find it.
One very specific warning about using leather -- if you use dyed leather, make sure the dye is colorfast. I had a set of pouches that were made of black deerskin. The first time it rained and I was onstage, everything inside the pouches turned black. I had to turn them inside out, let them dry and spray them with acrylic finish. Posted: Dec 20, 2009 8:39pm I did a trademark search for Duraslite. There is no trademark on this name. Therefore, it may not be the actual name of the product.
