Hello Fellows
Please look at this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meYvSUkM_Wk specialy at 5:27 sec to see this kind of interlude. I saw some variations of this performed by Rafael and other performed by Marvey but without visible apparatus .The question is who invented Yunke's interlude and who has the rights to build it? Thank you very much Jis |

I know that steinmeyer was upset with junkes version , because he didn t ask for permision and they talked out together that's what I was told when I was in spain yunky is a very talented performer and builder but my take on him that he manufacture all his stuff without permision like compressed , for example.

Dahih beik : to be honest, Yunke interlude has nothing too see with Steinmeyer Interlude ! It is a totally different illusion. Some people wants fees for all, but this time, nothing can justify...Interlude is an illusion, but passing thru someone is a concept.

To be honest, I like the box illusion in the beginning. Anyone know what that is?

I think we should more look on the technical aspects to "judge" if it is or not an Interlude, but this should be discussed in the "secret session".
Changing the look doesn't change the effect. The audience sees the same thing in both versions : One personne passing through another personnes body. The only difference some people may notice in the presentation is, that in Yunke's version the story is that the monster is coming out of the slayers body, like in Siegried & Roy's version where they finish with the tiger coming out of the body for the finale of Interlude. Now, does this count on the technical aspect ? I don't think so if the method is or would be the same. To me this is called putting his personnal touch into the presentation to make it "your own". Just your own presentation, not you own invention. Just my two cents. Oliver. |

The both interlude are close; ok , but in the version of Yunke there is absolutly no cover, no screen . For me , it is not the same illusion, I think you are wrong. It is different enough to be not a copy. The girl reappear through the man, it is not the same effect, first, and the same idea of the Steinmeyer Interlude.
If you consider it like a copy, then consider that Sean Bogunia Drawing board is a copy of Axtell Board; That Rafael chair production is a copy of Giro's chair; that Dobson Sawing is a copy of Death saw etc etc...And all the Sawing lady are copy of Selbit sawing or Wakeling sawing... We can give thousand examples. The both interlude are 2 differents illusions, even if the concept is similar, or very similar. Too much people wants the paternity for all effects. Warning, it can stop the creativity sometimes. Here, it is an inspiration of Steinmeyer's Interlude. Only an inspiration. |

And I prefer this if I compare to Interlude!

The problem is that some people claims to have fees again and again for all illusions in the same idea of what they invented. That is too easy, and that is anti-creative!

I think we should re-read the post from dahih beik :
"I know that steinmeyer was upset with junkes version, because he didn't ask for permision and they talked out together". Nobody ever said that Jim Steinmeyer claimed something from Yunke, neither that Yunke claimed having invented something new.. I think this all is just a question of being polite and respect. Exemple : David Copperfield modified Jim Steinmeyer's methode on Interlude, but talked with him beforehands. All though Davîd Copperfield doesn't claim to have invented a new Interlude. Other exemples : Sperry contacted Jim Steinmeyer to modify the Modern Art Illusion and got permission granted. Sperry never claimed having invented something new. I contacter Martin Lewis to modify the Cardiographic effect and got permission granted without needing to pay something. I don't claim having invented something new. So who claims all this. It's ourself ! People giving opinions and tell what they've read or heard. Written down, this is somehow misunderstood and "rumors" start. That's what happened with this thread, if you're willing to read every single post again. Concerning the rest ; That's called the evolution of illusion. Being inspired isn't a crime ! Oliver. |

You are right .. what amazes me that yunke woun fism using the illusion and another unauthotrized copy of andrew cole head mover ..what is going with fism jury are they ignorent shouldn t they protect copyrighted illusions more than anyone else I have nothing against yunky exept that all his illusions are unauthorized copies ..compressed, head mover, to name a couple I know that he is a good crafts man but that doesn't give him the wrigh to copy .

I can confirm that the Head Mover illusion is not authorized by Andre Kole.

I think of 'Interlude' as a 'body thru body', and Yunke's illusion is more a 'body from body', an appearance more than a penetration. Allthough they have similarities I would not say they are the same illusion. Not even the same type of effect.
Although I am a great admirer of Steinmeyer's work I cannot say that every illusion can be put on his account. That is a very thin line we should not cross over. If so, then we should consider Rafael's and Marvey's versions also as a rip-off. Rafael also has his own 'Falling Head'. It is not the same as the original. It is the same effect, but the working is different and therefore considered as a different illusion... I think Yunke has invented this one himself so you could contact him about his appearing devil. I can't say the same about the 'Head Mover'. That looks just as a plain and simple rip-off. |

Markku,
What he wanted to say is that there are only two Head Mover illusions authorized by André Kole, who invented this effect. One for his son Tim Kole and the second one for David Copperfield. Oliver. |
