Just wanted to add my two cents. Recently I bought a used Blaney Ladder Levitation from magicauction.com and when it arrived discovered, to my horror, that it was destroyed. The ad had suggested that it needed a little paint touchup but in truth it was broken, damaged and the paint job totally trashed. (Some people should never be allowed near professional props...!)

Thankfully Joe and Chris at magicauction.com (where I bought it) totally stepped up to the plate. They went back to the seller and got him to reimburse me a big chunk of money to cover the repairs. Then I contacted Dan who agreed to help me out. I shipped the illusion to him and when I got it back a month later I was shocked. It was like opening a brand new illusion. I can only guess how much work he put into it and now it is, for all intents and purposes, a brand new Ladder Levitation.

Dan did an amazing job and I would recommend his work to anyone. And he didn't charge nearly enough for the job he did. He has my highest recommendation.

I got Technique and Understanding when it first came out. Trouble was probably my favorite thing in the book. I have plans to build it in January when things slow down a bit. I think it's a really great illusion! And, it looks like Dan did the prop true justice...

After seeing both Jim's original version (only in the book of course) and Dan's, I'm not sure which table design I prefer. They both have their merits but I won't know until I see each performed.

Dan's illusions look absolutely stunning, but you'll pay a hefty price. Professionals will love his props.

Dan is not only a great builder and a great guy as you have seen from all of the above posts but he is\was an illusionist himself and knows all about travel, packing and real work on the raod which makes him an even greator builder in my opinion.

Not so sure what is soo amazing about this illusion. Looks boring in many ways. I guess I have to read the book and see it performed. Just my thoughts from quickly looking at this illusion

Perhaps if you read Jim's book and see it performed you'll come back and post an informed opinion. That would be more helpful. I have read the book and IMO there are several excellent routines in it and this is one of my favorites along with the wedge table.

Howard, perhaps. I will let you know what my thoughts are if I read or see a performance of it. I enjoy Jims work but there are some that I have seen that havent knocked my socks off before. And this might go into that category. Time will now only tell.

I have heard here that Mr.Daniel Summers is correct with his contracts !

It was the contract which we could take the illusion in three months.

We entreated him so many times.
But, his answer of the time limit extension wasn't always reliable.

My client is preparing a release of new CD album.
I am exhausted because I intended to use this illusion with a promotion clip of my client.
