Do I need to order them to get a good price or can I walk into a store and buy them? Thanks.

Sam's Club sells cases of the plastic "T-Shirt" bags. You have to pay a 5% upcharge if you're not a member, but it's still a pretty good deal. They also have cases of brown or white paper bags, in all sorts of sizes. I went with the brown paper lunch bags that are sold in grocery stores, and I buy them 200 at a time (not everyone wants or needs a bag).
And if you need a pitch table, Sam's also sells a very good 4-foot folding table for about $40. It is lightweight with a plastic top, but has a coated steel frame and so is very sturdy and durable. It folds to 2' square, great for small cars, very good for indoor use. [For outdoor use, Sam's sells a heavier $50 4-foot non-folding table, same type of construction and also lightweight, but even sturdier.] Best of all, it is adjustable in height so you don't have to bend over while pitching. If you cover it with a $10 piece of red velvet remnant from a fabric store, people will think you're Houdini! SETH

Jeff,
Bought my last bags at Restaurant Depot in Independence. 750 for $11.50. Plastic, the same style as grocery bags but a little smaller. You can tie them shut with a double knot so the smaller kids can't get them open easily. I always tell them to wait until they get home to open the package because they will need an adult to help them set up the Squirmle. At least that prevents them from immediately ripping open the package in front of my booth and exposing the gimmick to everyone around. I also bought a couple of servers waist aprons there, good for holding money and making change. They only sell to businesses, so you need to take a copy of your vendors license to obtain a members card (no charge) in order to make a purchase. |

Thanks all. Bill, I'll head up there this week. I know where you are talking about. Tried to buy bulk forks from there once for metal bending without a vendor's license...no dice.

I think anyone who does not put the items in a bag and hand it to the kid (if the parents are there) is missing a bet. Give 'em a feeling of ownership AND the parents will say, "Do you really want it?" The kid ALWAYS says "yes".
"You get the magic cards, with the 10 tricks, the magic 2-card Monte, to fool your friends, the magic paper clips AND the magic million dollar bill AND the virgin-vinyl custom carrying case (the bag) to take the whole mess home, only XXXX bux. Take it with you." If the parents are not there, I still put it in the bag and put it on the edge of the table. "Five dollars, please." Zig Ziglar says "ALWAYS assume the sale." What do you have to lose? By the way, I get the Sam's small plastic bags, 2000 in a green box for about $11. Jon |

I am looking at ordering some plastic bags from u-line and I was wanting to know does anybody use the bag holder to hold the plastic bags to keep them from getting tangled? I thought the bag holder would make the process of putting the products in the bag faster and when you pulled the bag off of the holder you would have both handles in each hand to tie the bag up quickly. Thanks

Hello B. Hackler:
I use the U-line plastic bags. I think that bag holder would be great if you have the room to set it up. My joint is on the small side and I don't have the room to set it up by me. What I do, is I open up a bunch of bags and put them into one bag, then they are open and ready to go. I make these up when I am home off the road, making up 2 C M packets and restringing the worms I snapped at the previous show( usually 4 to 8 worms) I keep 10 worms ready to go, as those little buggers will snap on you when you least expect it. U line ships fast too. I'd say if you have the room , go for the bag holder, it would make life on the joint a little easier haha ROD |

I get the small black bags from uline. I just get a big clip (from home depot) and hang the bag from the clip.
