Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

I don't know what the "porn" vs "normal" ratio in fanfiction is.
I know http://www.fanfiction.net doesn't allow porn (although they do go up to an "M" or "R" rating. http://www.adultfanfiction.net is nothing BUT porn. I've only ever written (and finished) one item in fanfiction; http://www.fanfiction.net/s/920393/1/Com......e_reduex The "reduex" is a joke on the fact that it was the second time I submitted this particular story. The first time, I didn't realize the website would strip formatting and the whole thing came off looking like one big paragraph.

I’m pretty sure circus life is something real and can be experienced. So if some one wrote a story about circus life, people would know if you know what you are talking about. Star Wars is fantasy and I’m certain the actions of the characters in the stories are base on human’s behavior but who could argue it.

But wait. George Lucas DID base Star Wars on his real life events.
Have none of you watched the documentary, George Lucas in Love? See here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5058529870025933880

Cliffg37: Thanks much for your help!
I'll try to find those movies. So, what TV show do you base your fan fiction on? >> I will answer this in a minute. I mean, why on earth would any one write about circus life if they had absolutely no first hand experienced? >> Because what I'm writing my fic on is in a circus setting. And I want to make sure everything is in character. How many fan-fiction writers does it take to change a light bulb? >> They'd have to write a fanfic about Spock changing it, but not before he does it with Kirk of course. What do fan-fiction writers usually eat? >> They live solely off of the reviews they get from other writers/readers. How much do fan-fictions make? Do they make any money at all? >> 99% of the time they are not even published. It's a thing that survives off of being a hobby alone. Who is the most interesting fan-fiction writer you have ever heard of? >> Interesting authors depend on the fandom. Do fan fiction writers fall in love, and which sex do they generally prefer? >> no, they are asexual beings. Sometimes they are succubi. Not every writer has the luxury of writing things they already know. That's why we have research. >> Exactly. I feel bad for House writers that actually want to write about a medical scenario. so why go through the hassle of writing a topic one isn't fluid in? >> Let me show you why: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Phoenix_Wri......_Big_Top The grammar is horrendous, but that makes it better XD Where is our questioner? He should be here defending his/her art! >> Sorry, my internet was being buggy for a few days! ^^; I don't know what the "porn" vs "normal" ratio in fanfiction is. >> I had a hilarious chart all lined up, but I seem to have misplaced it. Well, it says that at least half of all existing fanfiction is erotic [usually slash, too]. If it's not erotic, it's either a ****ty crossover, or contains the dreaded mary sue. I know http://www.fanfiction.net doesn't allow porn (although they do go up to an "M" or "R" rating. http://www.adultfanfiction.net is nothing BUT porn. >> I have an account at both XD people will still post porn on FF so that it gets more hits and just mark it as M. AFF has some content that isn't porn but instead graphic violence and stuff.

One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.
