After weeks of frustration and about 100' of thread, all I had produced was 5 straggly looking loops with knots a sailor would have been proud of. With your method it's easy. Thank's for sharing your information. Barry |

Jose... Thanks a bunch for sharing the awesome tip! I have the Million Dollar Knot but your method is ridiculously easy and every bit as fast.

Nice, thank you for sharing this... this knot is reminiscent of a knot we used when I took a (gasp!) sewing class in high school.

Thanks for sharing this tip. I haven't tried it, but it looks promising.
Practice what you present.
Present what you practice. |

So nice to hear that people are using my method with ease. I was just going on a gig on saturday, and as I waited for the taxi to arrive I did few loops at this Irish Pub. Man, it was hard because of the light (or the lack of it!).
The knot part is easy but try to find the both ends in almost darkness, theres a challenge for you =) Would appreciate more comments and experiences with the method. With the IT I use the knots wont slip, howabout others? |

As I told you in private mails, the knot is strurdy but a bit messy (a little fuzzy bundle). When I tried to trim the ends of the thread to reduce that "bundle" to the single knot, the knot "slipped off".
So, You need to pay attention (as you told me yourself) to keep it on the back of the hand to prevent it to be seen. Thanks! Jonathan. |

Thanks for this technique. I have found that the "fuzzy ball" can be reduced in size by cutting the ends with a sharp blade, rather than breaking the thread with the fingers. This is, of course, BEFORE tying the knot.....
Also, using one wrap, instead of two, reduces the size of the knot. Although, it doesn't "take" everytime. It does seem strong. It is nice not to have to screw around with jigs and balls of wax. |

Aaah, good point there MemDeck329! I have to try this cutting thing asap.
One wrap does indeed make the knot smaller, but I have find it a bit harder to do and easier to slip. |

Actually this has been around for quite some time. In the U.S., it's referred to as a "seamstress knot" and is used for quickly knotting a thread (when threading a needle) in preparation for sewing. I learned it about 4 or 5 years ago, but had forgot about it. Thanks for sharing Taikuutta!
