There is one mathematical system that works. It costs as much as a casino though and its called, being on the other side of the table.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I can only imagine.
Only thing I can compare it to is when chump stains come in and play Blackjack without the slightest clue. Occasionally they can do whatever wacko thing they want, and win. They could trip over a land mine and it would not go off. While I sit losing my fanny, making right mathematical plays. Only solice is the next day I occasionally see them come in and naturally they play the same way and not only very quickly lose back all the money but a huge chunk of the bankroll. I have the option of laughing though!

For your information. Any good for practice? Overall I think that it is clear and user friendly for the beginner who just wants to get a feel for the game. Nothing can compare with the real live atmosphere of a casino.

No craps bets give you a positive expectation. Having said that, one doesn't need to expect to "beat" the game to make it worthwhile playing - there's an obvious recreational element. So if you want to have fun playing craps, you can certainly learn enough to minimize your disadvantage. Playing craps "well" gives you a very tolerable disadvantage (especially compared to other casino games), and it's a pretty sociable game. You'll have some winning sessions, and some losing sessions. Just be aware that in the long run, you'll come out behind. If you actually want to have long-term success, focus on blackjack, video poker (certain games under certain conditions), and/or sports betting.

All this frank advice confirms what I felt in my heart all along. All these people selling 'Systems' are misleading the daft and the naive. Although Craps seems to be a fun game I do not think I will be chancing any money on it.
I am familiar with Blackjack. That is to say I am fluent in the basic strategy. (I know what to do with 16 against a high card!) Blackjack seems to be the one punters friend in the casino but even here I am wary of the boasts of those who say they make enough from their 'regular' profits to live 'comfortably' off.Perhaps I am too much of a cynic. In blackjack you can examine the table rules and if necessary clarify these rules with the dealer. Also if you use a simple count (ie one that is realistic in the heat of a game) you might reduce the house advantage towards zero but in the long run things would still be against you. The way I look at it- you go to a casino to have fun. Life should be fun. If you use a wise 'system' of betting this may allow your capital to last longer than otherwise would be the case. And who knows luck may appear out of the blue in your favour. But you will not be winning because of the system. That is clear enough. |

But if you don't mind having a small disadvantage for the fun of gambling and periodic wins, then craps isn't bad at all. It's considerably better (in the sense of having a smaller disadvantage) than many other games. And it can take a long time to get into the "long run." If you play craps "well," it's not at all unlikely that you'd emerge from any given one-hour session in the black.

The count tells you when to bet what. The idea is to bet more when it is good for you and less when it is bad for you. Counting tells you when this is happening within reason. You may win or lose the exact same amount of hands over time, but if you are betting more when you have an advantage and are more likely to win that bet, and less (or at times NOTHING) when you are at a disadvantage and likely to lose that bet, the difference is where the profit lies. The idea behind good card counting is to know when to bet high if you have a slight advantage. The house edge in a good ruled Blackjack game when basic strategy is played 100% is close to 50/50. (I do say close to) But most people biff that completly. The secrets to basic strategy are not those who hit the 16 against a 10, it is in those who know what to do with a pair of 9's. Any time anyone tells me they know basic strategy I ask what to do with 9's. Go ahead, take a shot. No fair peeking. How about a 12 against a 3 showing. What do you do? Again no peeking. These are the moves that cost punters the most money as they are sort of counter intuative. This is why the house will almost ALWAYS have an advantage against average players. The miss these and other plays regularly and it costs them money, and gives the house a larger advantage.
